You should use Silverlight_Tool.exe which is latest version of Silverlight. Please let me know if you are still having the problem..

What do people recommend for synchronizing to SQL Server 2005 databases.
My application is WPF, C#. both databases are SQL Express 2005, and I use LINQ in code for most of the access (with the odd stored proc when I wanted to go "old school").
The problem is that I need to create a template for a new customer database. When a new customer is created the default values from the database get inserted into a local SQL Express Database, adding a customer Id as a composite key to some customer specific tables. The schema of both databases is the same apart from the additional customerID fields in the target.
One option is to script the inserts; and store the scripts as embedded resources in a setup project. I find that a bit of a hassle for maintenance.
From a maintenance perspective I prefer keeping a template mdf file in a zip, uncompressing, connecting, and importing the data at run time.
So what is the best way to do it? Do I use Linq? or just iterate through all of the tables and copy row by row? Or is there a better way?
THanks.

In google chrome, when page containing silverlight plugin is loaded, it shows silv. control as transparent. If I click somewhere on the page or any other window, it shows it correct (with colors) as expected.
IE and FireFox do not have this problem.
Can anybody suggest me the solution.
Thank you.

Don't use Chrome?
But seriously, is Chrome officialy supported by MS for Silverlight?
|
|
|

I don't know whether it is officially declared as supported. We are using it and works on google chrome. (There can be the issues like the one I mentioned).

Chrome is NOT currently listed as a supported browser for the current plugin version.

It's not officially supported but Scott Guthrie has declared it as working. Maybe at some point it will be officially supported. The Silverlight component I am developing at work appears to work OK so far in Chrome.

Hi
I have a ListView control with several columns.
The left most column in the ListView contains a TreeView. When expanded this TreeView is limited in width to the column in where it is placed. Is it possible to span the TreeView over multible columns in the ListView?
I'm trying to make something like this:
http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/jibinpan/ASP.NET05152006134544PM/Images/masterDetqail.gif
The only thing missing is the childs capability to span multible columns.
Can anyone help?

The first that comes to mind is the ColumnSpan property, not sure it is a property of ListView though. Could you rework the other columns into a Grid, and then your treeview could be placed in a cell with ColumnSpan="3".

One possibility could be to create the treeview as an adorner, which sits in the adorner layer.

I have a group of 3 radio button. I would like to databind a integer value variable to control them. For example, if variable is 2, then radio button 2 is check while the rest is not.
Any suggestion to the implementation?

I would do something along these lines, maybe somebody else has a better idea!
List<bool?> vals = new List<bool?>
vals.Add(false)
vals.Add(true)
vals.Add(true)
void SetVal(int index)
{
foreach(bool? b in vals)
b=false;
vals[index] = true;
}
XAML
<RadioButton x:name="rb1" IsChecked="{Binding Path=vals[0]}"/>
<RadioButton x:name="rb1" IsChecked="{Binding Path=vals[1]}"/>
<RadioButton x:name="rb1" IsChecked="{Binding Path=vals[2]}"/>

You are looking for an effect similar to a RadioButtonList.
The bad news: WPF doesn't ship with one of these by default.
The good news: They are fairly easy to put together, and there are numerous samples. Here's[^] a good one from Matthew Macdonald. If you haven't bought the Pro WPF book (there are C# and VB.NET editions), you owe it to yourself to buy this book now - it's a fantastic resource.

What else would you create a WPF application other than WPF
A Gadget is simply html, using Silverlight would be more appropriate.
