I think for any developer, they go with multiple option...
As for me I go with Learning a new technology, Coding, Designing and architecting, Teaching and Thinking up the next Big Idea...

No doubt anyone who browses codeproject.com is trying to learn.
The polling rate for the first choice should not be reflecting the reality.

I agree AndersonChau that if you are going to be a quality designer or developer you must assume the role of a life long learner. I am 50+ now and still hit the books on a regular basis from design patterns to deepening my understanding of concepts learning is a daily exercise.
Thanks

Yeah if you want to stay on top of things you have to keep learning

People are not being honest here - or are they? As much as I like coding, thinking etc I still prefer the Other.

Yeah - I'm quite fond of a bit of the other too

...on a new computer for development... I suppose I can't ever give it up!
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

I'm coding and at the same time, understanding (and learning) the concept of C# and XML. But, what I really want and looking forward to, is to have a vacation (even a 10-day vacation would do). I haven't have one after I graduated.
I also have overtime at the office on Valentine's Day?!
Don't mind those people who say you're not HOT. At least you know you're COOL.

So, did you utilize it properly?

but I also had a post-Valentines Day date on 22. I thought no one would date me this whole month!

When you code for a long time like me, it would be nice to try another language, I have been using c/c++ for more than 30+ years..
Don’t get me wrong I like c/c++ (firmware and desktop) using Linux, Unix and windows. But it would be nice to try another language…

You should be OK, I believe they're intending to get new standards out more frequently, so you'll have a new language (C++ NN) to learn every 2-3 years.
Makes it a pain keeping up to date - they've only just got a couple of compilers to 100% C++ 11 and C++ 14 is due fairly soon.

I'd rather be coding, doing architecture and design, coming up with the next big idea, etc.
Of course, the reality is that I'd rather be doing none - this is just the day job. I'd really rather spend more time with the family and more time in the recording studio.
