No, you are not... see about 10 post below by Joan Murt or a bit deeper by Nagy Vilmos

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

When you code for a long time like me, it would be nice to try another language, I have been using c/c++ for more than 30+ years..
Don’t get me wrong I like c/c++ (firmware and desktop) using Linux, Unix and windows. But it would be nice to try another language…

You should be OK, I believe they're intending to get new standards out more frequently, so you'll have a new language (C++ NN) to learn every 2-3 years.
Makes it a pain keeping up to date - they've only just got a couple of compilers to 100% C++ 11 and C++ 14 is due fairly soon.

I'd rather be coding, doing architecture and design, coming up with the next big idea, etc.
Of course, the reality is that I'd rather be doing none - this is just the day job. I'd really rather spend more time with the family and more time in the recording studio.

I've got the same problem. Me, I'd rather be lying in a hammock on my very own Carribean island drinking Piña Coladas surrounded by 12 young, voluptious ex-virgins!

You can't spend your whole time learning new languages and tech - because you need to use it in order to learn it properly: learning the theory is nothing without actually putting it into practice.
And coding is dull unless there is design involved; Teaching needs understanding (or you end with with uneducated students); Big Ideas need details; and so forth.
So, I have to go for "other" - all of the above, pretty much.

Balance between Learning, Coding (Delivering) and Profit from Deliveries.
Unfortunately too much emphasis has been placed on Learning.
