After XP I just couldn't go to Vista, every time I used it it smashed my confidence by being flaky, noticeably slower, common functions obfuscated and hard to find. But, I 'wanted' an up-to-date OS all the same.
Then Win7 was launched and I got it on launch, 64-Bit Pro version. I love it, it 'just works', and you don't notice it.
With Win 8 - I just don't feel the compulsion to move. What I have works fine and Win8 looks like something suited to a tablet or smartphone that's been shoe-horned onto a desktop. I'll be skipping this one I expect (just like I did with Vista).
That's what happens when you need to be compliant with something bad
I know a couple of people that actually disable Aero to the Classic Theme (and me deppending on the machine I have to work on I might also do it) but a good looking OS is always better.
Now everything at M$ is becoming squared and pale...
