Not to excited with the new metro look yet...
I haven't used it yet, but it seems like the most overrated 'technique' (it's really a UI, right?) of the moment.
Although it seems to work really well on phones (I'll get a Windows Phone just for that)!
The Windows Runtime looks pretty cool though.
But WHY do I have to learn a whole new framework just as I was getting to know .NET better?
I'll probably get Windows 8 at the same time as I will get a new computer... Not anytime soon.
I downloaded it on the first day but I have not installed it yet. I have no time to do that even as a virtual box guest. Although I am somewhat put off that the start menu is still gone. And that is also partly the reason for not installing.
All these years, the MS OS is keyboard/mouse oriented, now they say this Windows 8 is touch oriented. To get the best out of it I need to make my desktop touch supportive and I don't want to do it NOW.
And many souls are already shouting not to install it, unless you are ready to format/burn your hard disk and particularly if you are using XP.
So lets wait untill the evil bogies are handled. No hurry
unless you are ready to format/burn your hard disk and particularly if you are using XP.
You don't need to format the HD. You can use Partition Wizard[^] to shrink your main partition and create a new one just to install W8. It's very straightforward and I've used this software myself many times to do just that.
