My favorite method to paste "whatever it is" is "paste as it is" too, Bruno!
As to QA page... i use quite often "paste as code" and it helps, but i need to add specific laguage name, such as "VB.NET", "C#", etc.
Cheers,
Maciej

when I reply to a message, I select the text I want to Quote, I click the "Quote selected text" button and it acts like I've tried to Post because I get a message saying items that need attention -
- you must supply some content
- There were problems with your new post
EDIT (only on Pete' posts - I understand if this is because you dont want what he says repeated).

Tried exactly this with the above quote... works fine.

I recognised that too when replying to this post: The Lounge[^].
But for all other posts it seems to work.
[EDIT]
It seems to apply only to posts from Pete. I tried it here, in the Lounge, and in the forum of ones of his articles.

You're correct, just Petes.

Well, it looks like my posts are available for quoting again.

All the comments appear to have disappeared from my answer to this question. Part of my GUI is slow[^]. This is on Web 02.

Nevermind. They're back now.

You mean they appear to have appeared?

Indeed. They appeared to have disappeared and now they have appeared to appeared.

Appearances can be decieving.
(We actually have a proper fix in place that will be deployed later today)

Taken that you have deployed the new version already the problem still seems to exist. Sometimes comments are shown and sometimes not.
For example in solution 1, Sql server:return column names based on record values I sometimes see all comments, sometimes only my own comment and sometimes none of them. However at the same time I see comment on solution 2 (or at least I think I see them all)

Just noticed that the little red box on the left side of my account name (the one which indicates how many messages I have) also seems to disappear once in a while. Not sure if this is related though...

This wasn't a problem when I started rolling my big eyes, and I don't think it was the last time I used it (a month or three ago)...

Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

A user has posted a message to the Lounge which got wrongly caught in the moderation queue. I suspect he tried to post the message again, it showed up twice. I let both messages pass, and deleted one of them manually. But now both posts are gone.
Below is the link to one of the messages which I tried to reply noticing the member that he shouldn't repeat posting if the message doesn't show up instantly.
New Discussion[^]
Hope you can find something from the bare bits of info I'm able to provide.
Could also be that another protector has noticed the double posting and removed the other post.
Edit: Now it shows up as deleted (it's the one I deleted manually, the one I wanted to remain there is nowhere to be seen): The Lounge[^]
@cp-andy : Did you delete your other message?
|
|
|
|
|
No I haven't deleted. I think if it's caught in moderation queue then proper message should be displayed instead of 'Message removed'
I will post again.
Thanks

The funny thing about it is that it showed message removed after it was accepted, and then re-appeared in the moderation queue. And that was before you re-posted it.

Ah. Caching problem between servers?
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
|
|
|
|

But why would it say "message removed"?
If it was a caching issue, it's either there or not, but "message removed" sounds like Schrödinger's message to me.
|
|
|
|

"Message removed" is a placeholder for any message which is in moderation. Once it's let through, it changes to the actual subject line.
