Maybe this'll help to identify/fix the problem; I deleted an answer I had posted the other day and noticed my Authority score wasn't lowered. I had edited that answer once before I deleted it and the Editor score wasn't affected after deleting either.
Today's synchronisation adjusted the Authority and Editor score by not counting deleted answers.

i lost them just now (when i posted the original message) , i have my desktop rep watcher sidebar gadget running, and it flagged the changes, and it is on a 60 second refresh.

It's a case of points being removed for things like articles being deleted and the rep score not being updated.
A big part of the reason we remove rep when an item gets removed is to stop people gaming the system. I know it's frustrating to see points go, but I'll work to fix this bug so that points, when removed, are removed at the time the item gets removed, meaning no big shocks.

I lost points overnight as well, probably close to 500 points or so - When I went to bed last night, I was at 190295 (give or take). This morning I was at 189875 (give or take). Nothing showed up in the rcent reputation points list to indicate why.

Me too.
Just lost about 600 points.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

I also changed the dropdown arrow so that Dave would stop hunting for that damned crystal of enlightment, or crystal of endless beer, or whatever it was he thought he'd find.

It is the Lizard Masters: They are desperate to prevent you reaching the 150,000 points mark (hence the "re-shuffle" last weekend, and next - is it a coincidence that Saturday is the 15th of January? 15 - just 10 to the power of 4 off the "MAGIC" points value? And "4" is a special number, as you well know: if you yell it loudly near a golf course, people duck.)
Quick: post some drunken seeming rubbish to garner sufficient "1" votes to lower your rep to a suitable level before the Lizards instruct Prince Phillip to arm the Hamster assassins and send out the hit squads: they got Princess Di, after all!

Found the issue. The limit on comment partipiation points is 25 per day. You've hit the wall.

We could dop that, though technically the events shouldn't be in the Repuation History list because they didn't result in any change to repuation history. We'd have to rename it to "User Events", with the rep points being a mere addendum to what members did.
Another bigger issue is the rep history table is a whopper. We really are trying to keep it on a diet.
