Author rep points in the graph and on the professional profile page still dont match in some cases.
Is this a caching issue?

As I remember it from Chris' earlier reply:
Most or all rep points are earned and tallied right away, however the graph is cached; if you don't navigate away from your "Professional Profile", it won't change, clicking the tabs is not sufficient to get an update.

Er....what exactly does that mean?

I think the following is correct, but I'm not absolutely sure:
1. you have one browser page or tab on your "XXX - Professional Profile" page, the one with an "About XXX" and a "Reputation" tab.
2. you click "Reputation" and the rep graph shows
3. you use a different browser, browser page, or browser tab to do whatever you want to do on the CP site
4. you go back to the browser/browser tab you used in 1+2, and click the "About XXX" then the "Reputation" tab; or you click refreh; you will get the old rep graph, not an updated one.

Thanks. I get it now.
However....my problem is different. The author rep points don't match when you compare a professional profile and the graph. This is irrespective of whether some activity is performed on CP in another browser or another browser tab.
This (points not matching up) is the way it has been for a few days now.
It could be a browser or CP caching issues?

Nope - nothing worked.
So, obviously it is a CP caching issue.

For me this is the case for Organiser points from a week or so... Rest all were fine so i left it as is! There is always a difference of some points even if there is an increase.

Aha, I just discovered a minor discrepancy myself: my authority and total rep count differ by 2 when comparing the numbers on the profile page and on the graph.

It's most likely an artefact from some work we did earlier in the week. We need to run the repopulate script just to finalise things, but I held off this weekend because I didn't want to scare you all.

A question posted [^]hardly an hour ago and it already has 1200+ views? Comparing to other questions, that hardly cross 100 even in couple of days! Is the data right? I sense something wrong... can someone confirm?

This happened on another question not so long ago. Think Chris said it was a spider on that occasion, so probably the same again this time.

What's actually a spider? Might be a silly question... but would like to know!

Right! thats looks more appropriate... probably thats why views get exponential 8 times

Based on this post[^] i too was looking at Who's who code and was trying to get my status...
Things i observed:
1. I cannot jump directly to a certain page number... i played along with querystring to land up where i wanted to
2. Again, the order by was working but it didn't modify the query string accordingly. Like, from default of MemberId to Messagecount, again i have to change that in url to jump to specific page.
3. Based on new reputation system and new Q&A forum + Tip/Trick forum, there should be more filter criteria's. Like, order by number of Q&A Answer's posted, Tip/Tricks posted, by different rep categories like - authority, organizer, etc!
What say?

I think that would overly complicate things for what is really a minor service of the site.
Sure people like to see lists and stats, but it is more about vanity.

Agree to that... but looks like left aside for now after so many major changes to site!
Can be included in a list and thought about...may be with a lower priority!

I disagree. The information exists and is available; its usefulness would be improved by making it searchable, listable, and sortable.

I guess that will eventually come into CP!
However, its not high priority - this was the first time I actually when to the Who's who page and sorted by "number of messages".

Interesting but definitely low on our list.
