Why?
I must get a clever new signature for 2011.

If I just report a question (for whatever reason), I get a rep point. If I delete it, I get nothing (and the point I got for reporting it is deducted. That doesn't provuide much incentive for us to clean up questions (nor report them).

Agreed. Delete too should give +1 as rep.
But, I guess Chris wants to keep a check on this, as if someone on a given day does not tries to fetch some rep-points just by deleting questions! Can be?

Maybe that's the point. Don't want to give people a reason to delete a question, other than it being crap.
Though I agree with the observation about report reputation points. It seems that if I'm going to take the time to report something, I think it should be changed or removed. If that then happens, it makes little sense to then undo the reputation I was given for reporting it in the first place.

Well, I see it this way - we're given delete ability so that we can do some of the site cleanup for the admins so they don't have to. That's "organizing" in my eyes. I'm no saying that we should get a point for reporting, and then a point for deleting, but if we delete without reporting, there should still be a point there.

We made the decision not to award points for deletion in order to discourage gaming the system in a truly malicious fashion.
Yes, if we update the system so this restriction only affects silver and below, then we should be good to go.

Interesting.
Do you have any add-ins blocking anything from Microsoft's website?

I haven't been on in a while, and got the notification that I need to validate my email. So I clicked the link, and didn't get it. Checked the system logs, and found this entry:

Hmm, not unknown, but doesn't match.

Web22 and Web24 don't show the menu on the left for me.
Tried several refreshes and ctrl-f5's and never showed up (unless I went to another server like web23)

You know ever since you allowed the unions, things have been going downhill.
I say you disband those unions at once and go back to the good old days of whips and tasers

I remember a discussion to let OP not delete the question if it has some answer. I find the same applies to editors too.
Shouldn't people with rep-power should be given this privilege to delete a question if they feel like? This is based on scenario like this[^].
I found that I had privilege to delete answers and I deleted all - but then also I was unable to delete the question.

I'm just Guessing, but I see two answers (one by me) - it may be that between you deleting answers and trying to delete the question, it got more replies.
Why are you trying to delete it anyway - I see nothing rude or offensive, no spam. It's just a question (and a simple one. too)
Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

I doubt. Looks like, there was a time difference of atleast 5 min.

Strange, aren't you able to view why so? It's a repost. Actually more than twice I think. Later, OP posted the same question with more details again.
Surely no spam, rude or offensive. Just a worthless duplicate question.

I have delete power, and I use it on dupe questions.

Same here!
EDIT: Do you have power to delete even if the question has some answers? I don't! I rechecked for 'Delete' icon in other questions. They are missing if question has atleast 1 answer (something similar was discussed few days back here itself.)
