If a message is removed via "vote to remove", the vote will be removed. I am not sure if the same applies to a message that is deleted by the OP, but I would guess so and that's the way it should do.

Posting the message isn't transactionalised with casting a vote, so if we had a database slowdown (eg during backups) there's a chance the vote went through but the comment didn't.

Internally, yes, and we were planning to but then the cost and hassle of leasing an IPv6 line from the hosting centre meant we decided we'd wait until more than 5 people in the world would visit.

Somehow I think that if you turned it on tomorrow you'd get more than 5 visitors. You would probably get 5 volunteers to test IVP6.codeproject.com just from the troublemakers in the lounge if I echoed this post there.

Yeah, I know
I really wanted to but there was just too much going on to add that to the number of spinning plates we're currently balancing.

Yeah, as Dan says your link just goes to the first page in the Lounge.

Yeah but had you used the perma-link it would have worked irrespective of the forum it got moved to.

I had used the perma-link but it did not work.
The 2nd time you did, your first post was not a perma-link (just a forum link that's browser, time, and session dependent)

What's this perma-link thingy you speak of?

As far as I remember, I clicked the "Link" link in that post and once it loaded fully, I copied the address in the browser URL bar and pasted it in my first post. If that did not make it a perma-link, then I guess there might be some issue with the site or connection at that time; or it might be my fault. Anyways, the thread has been moved and my request has been answered.

Ah, that's the problem. You need to right-click and copy the url. In the Lounge, if you click on the perma-link url, it reloads the page with the expanded url.

Oh, I didn't knew that, I though it worked the same way it did previously.

Yeah it's a bug of sorts although a minor one.

If you click the permalink, it gets translated before the page loads, into a Lounge.aspx?...
Seems to be a lounge-specific thing.

Would it be helpful to others if we were able to filter our reputation categories (on the rep page) so that we could see everything listed for only author, editor, etc... and sort by date/time.
I think this would make it easier to find items we have contributed to for future reference.

Great idea.

I never understood that.
I wouldn't hire a carpenter. I reckon they'd do a terrible job of the plumbing. I'd hire a project manager and have them organise the contractors to undertake their various specialities.
