Ya makes sense in what you say. But a user that has built his reputation would rarely leave the question without following up. It is just the one timers that create this issue, resulting in heaps of multiple questions surrounding the same topic.
And as for this point "questions being marked as "solved" that doesn't really have a valid solution." I think it is not necessary to mark the solution as an answer, what i am talking about is atleast leave a note whether that solution was even tried or not. And if tried what happened. Leave it at that.
That will stop "one part" of the one timers from posting new questions as they might have already tried the solution that had a comment left on it.
Thanks
Maz

Ok, you meant have any interaction in the answers part, not marking it as "solved".
I personally find it a good idea. Let's see what the admins say, if it is realistic or not.

Today I published a tip/trick at Getting notifications upon your application writing an error to Events Log[^]. During preivew I was able to see all images. The tip was approved but none of the images are showing up. I am basically getting 404 on the images. Do I need to upload all images again or is there any other issues that could be addressed?
Thanks

Hi Kamran,
Is that still what you see? The images show OK for me currently.

The MySQL forum keeps moving around. Currently there are two: the regular one under "Database and SysAdmin" (not always present in the left pane), and the composite "Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP" (which I consider rather silly as one does not need any of the other technologies to enjoy MySQL).
|
|
|
|
|
All fixed. I removed the MySQL forum to better direct readers to the LAMP stack forum.

Hi,
first of all, sorry if it is a repost, but a quick search in bugs-forum didn't give me a result.
I have noticed that, when posting a code snippet containing "\\" makes the code-colours to get crazy because it doesn't count as ended string. It results on code (even containing key words) being violet and strings being black.
Example:
int dummy 1 = 0;
using whatever
string other = "First part " + "\\" + " from here on is messy"
Regards.

Hi Nelek,
Thanks very much for the report. This is indeed a known bug. Try as we might, we have yet to defeat this one. Our apologies. That said, I believe some day inspiration will meet victory.

Just noticed a (good) answer from a platinum member, but the account is not active??? If this is intentional then everything is ok, just wondering if it's some kind of problem...
The answer: Add values to a list contains a Lookup Field[^]

That's an odd one!
public class SysAdmin : Employee
{
public override void DoWork(IWorkItem workItem)
{
if (workItem.User.Type == UserType.NoLearn){
throw new NoIWillNotFixYourComputerException(new Luser(workItem.User));
}else{
base.DoWork(workItem);
}
}
}

Ah, so you've finally implemented a self-help feature that allows people to disable their account for a few weeks while they battle Code Project addiction?

See this: can you help me quickly in this question?. That was posted by me. It is showing up as an alternate to a tip/trick I deleted. I'm not sure why it's showing as an alternate. I think I posted it as a message or comment originally (or maybe I accidentally posted it as an alternate... not sure).
If it was just that I posted it as an alternate, let me know and I'll delete it. However, I don't remember doing that, so it may be a bug.

Thanks very much for reporting this. It's an odd case, but at least one issue here is that protectors and other such users shouldn't be able to have the alternatives to a deleted item.

Chris,
Someone just hit me with a bunch of downvotes, 10 of them(all platinum) in the Soapbox under my Karzai post. The downvotes are from today. I'm not interested in the ones older only because they are from ahmmed.
I only complain because the childish dual between him and I is over, and this is just silliness now.

I can see the votes going both directions on that, and so no, I'm not qualifying this one with an answer.
