This is one that I've noticed over the past year. I've tried different browsers, different computers, tried logging on when I'm out of town, and I still get the same problem.
When I'm typing in a code block, the cursor will randomly get reset back to the beginning of the code block. Yes, I've made sure that I didn't accidentally brush the mouse and/or touchpad. I've had several times where I've ended up deleting an entire block of code because the cursor got reset, and changed a selected block of code when I was going to delete it.
But the most annoying thing is that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it will do it. I can walk away for ten minutes and come back to find that it's done nothing, then the moment I hit a key it resets. But I've also had times where it will leave me alone for a minute or so, then the moment I stop it resets.
I've already given up on several articles because I wanted to put plenty of example code, but I had to quit before I jabbed my eyes out.
If you think it's a problem on my end, please give me some advice on what to do to fix it. But if it's a problem with the site, please fix it because dear God is it irritating!

I'm a Python programmer and I want to submit an article for Python. I saw there is Perl in the Language section, but not Python. Can we add Python to it? Thanks.

We try not to break sections by language, rather, post your article in the section that the article is about, and then tag the article with the technology used (in this case Python)

While selecting multiple lines, separated by line breaks, and quoting them, I get extra <br> tags . I've seen other posts with this issue too.

No, Firefox 22. I'll never use Chrome, it has lost me in eleventy eleventh version (what's it's current version?)

I want to download
Download demo - 38.2 KB
Download code - 32.9 KB
of following page
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/92787/Working-on-an-NPAPI-browser-plugin
I have signed in,use chrome, find download files is invalid .zipfiles.
Open it with UltraEdit, find it is plain html.

Note to admins:
Both downloads work fine for me. FF v22.0

Same for me in IE9. I thought it might be that the OP was right-clicking to save the downloads, but I just tried that and it works fine for me.
I do note, though, that the ZIP files each contain an HTML file, "Codeproject.html"... maybe that's what the OP is talking about?

Works for me too in both Chrome and IE8.

I have downloaded both and they are valid zip files. They do each contain some strange HTML file but I think you can ignore them.

If you right-click and "Save tagret as.." you won't get the files. You have to open the links (or open in a new tab if you don't want to get away from the article), it will show a downloading page and then actual file will be downloaded.
Note: If you're using any download acceleration tools such as FDM, they sometimes create such issues

Somebody closing or deleting a question doesn't affect your points, if you got points for answering it then you will not lose the points when it is deleted (more accurately called closed). It will also still show up in your profile as answered and still have the links, but when you click it then it says its been closed or deleted.

..but why is a vote of 3 stars to an answer in Q&A considered DOWNVOTING?
It really puts people of from submitting answers at all. Nobody wants to have their answer downvoted, and I'm not sure that the original posters know that 3 is downvoting as well.
What about 4 stars? is that considered downvoting as well (haven't had the opportunity to check)?

There are some 10 million members here, some of whom spend their time adding downvotes or neutrals to questions, answers etc., for no discernible reason. As long as we have a voting system this will happen. Ask yourself the question: what is the net effect on you of downvotes?

It's not that - it's the principle. It's just that I reckon 3 is neutral (the CP used to do so as well in the "old" days"). And I THINK that most OP's do the same...
I was just wondering the reason that it has suddenly become negative?!?!?
