Hi folks,
I went to review this[^] blog entry, and wanted to write a message to the author describing the formatting issue, but the discussion area didn't exist. In the past, it has always been available for unpublished articles, but this time it just said "Comments are only available once an article is submitted for publishing." I'm not sure what state it's in, but it appeared under "Blogs needing approval" on the home page.

I just went there and it exists for me.... Might be a privileges thing.

Yes, I have found that as well, but only for Technical Blog submissions. The Comments are not available in the moderation queue for the first revision, but once the blog is published, it appears. I don't know if it is a technical issue, but it is always like that.

If you go to the bottom of the blog now you should now see the comment button. However, if a blog is still in the review state then you cannot add comments to it. I think this is down to the fact that blogs come in via an RSS feed so there is some difficulty in posting messages back to the author while they are in this state.

I was wondering if I can make a codeproject chrome app for codeproject and publish it to my account, not there to make money or anything, just their for everyone, its just just a simple chrome app that when you press it it will take you to http://www.codeproject.com/[^]
all I would need to do this, is chrome will game me a file for code project to upload and push, or they put some sort of meta thing in their header, I did the same with with my site www.techxsoftware.weebly.com

I'd suggest that you could always make an article out of this. I, for one, would love to see some articles on Chrome development (we only have a couple at the moment).

so may I make this chrpome app for the site? it would proply help the sponsor ship of the site and proply get more users for it, mostly because it will be in the chrome webstore

I don't see why not. As long as you don't try to pass it off as an official CodeProject app, you should be okay.

I wont pass it off as a an offical code project app, but thats good to know I can proseed with this, thanks,
I am ready to publish it, all codeproject needs to do is add this tag to the header of the site and publish
<meta name="google-site-verification" content="7_M3GmfeNFl5Gt08OP4flDQZfGadooSQSkzWDMt1Tms" />
or
upload this file which is a confermination from google so then the app can be published

Hi,
This sounds interesting, but I am not sure what you are proposing. How is what you would create any different than having a dedicated icon-link to CP in Chrome, or having a link to CP on a web-site ?
yours, Bill

whats makes it different is it is a big bookmark for Google chrome uses, and people store their apps there like me, the apps appear every-time the user opens a new tab, think of it as a convenience

Why does uploading of demo samples on CP sucks so? Always have to try and try for about a million times before the file will get uploaded. Unexpected error during upload. One or more files may not have been uploaded.

I've just uploaded an update to one of my articles. Easy as!
Now, what's your problem? Just saying "it sucks" will elicit little help, always try to think from the devs point of view when reporting a bug, what does Chris and the gang need to know?

Whenever I want to upload the zip file containing a demo to the an article, it always take time before it upload. An error "Unexpected error during upload. One or more files may not have been uploaded." always come up.
This has always been my experience when uploading zip files on CP.

We're always here to help. Please let us know what browser / OS you're using. In the meantime always feel free to send your articles to the editors to post for you at submit[at]codeproject.com including the article and code in a .rar, or renamed .zip (ie .notzip) file. It could be that the file you're uploading is too large, or perhaps you've had the editor open too long.
In any case, please feel free to send me the files and / or the URL. We'd like the process to be as painless as possible.
Thanks,

I am using Google Chrome Version 28.0.1500.71m on Windows 8
-EDIT-
The article is posted, I am revising it. It is already saved as Revision 4 and am just to attach the newly edited code to it. How am I to send only the code while pointing to the article and revision to attach it too?

You should be able to "publish" the article in Composing status by selecting it as a work in Progress like so:
Code Project Article FAQ[^]
Please send me the URL to that and the files if you would like me to attach them.
Also, I attempted to replicate the issue on Windows 8 and that version of Chrome, but was, unfortunately, unsuccessful.

I think it is Chrome that is causing this. I downloaded Opera Version 12.15 and just in one click, the demo was uploaded...

When changing from Article to Tip, (possibly vice versa) the links to the images and sources get broken and you get the strangest error message of "no ticket" if I remember correctly.

In QA section we have "Reply" widget where people can reply to comments but it seems very faint(IE) so most of the people don't click on reply widget & add new comment instead of replying to previous message. Hence the person who has asked any question/comment doesn't get any notification & it goes unheard/unanswered irrespective the OP has reply to his message.
Please see this image[^]
or this Question's comments section label visible on Dropdown selected vale item[^]
I have seen this so many times as OP is new to forum.

I'd hoped that simply moving your mouse over each row and having the buttons "pop" out would highlight the reply functionality more than simply having the icons fully exposed. I prefer it as it is.

I think Sushil Mate has a point here.
Chris Maunder wrote: having the buttons "pop" out would highlight the reply functionality
In the present case, it is the whole comment block that gets highlighted when hovered, not only the reply
icon. This behavior is somehow inconsistent with the rest of the design, in which I always get a rectangular outline (or even a complete button appearing) on the clickable zone only, what clearly makes clickable zones stand out.
Propositions:
1. Do not highlight the whole line, but only the "reply" button, as in a forum message highlighting. So by hovering the comment, the "reply" icon background will also get dark red (or crimson or whatever the color is named, I am no woman).
or
2. Highlight the whole line AND get the icon background dark red.
or
3. Make the whole line clickable, and a click would fire up a reply. (I reckon this could be an annoying behaviour on touchscreens, as you could not touch a comment to scroll down/up).
I know that you wrote that you prefer the current behaviour, I still try my luck.
