Any chance you could update to the latest version of FireFox and give it a test? On v47 and v50 I'm not seeing this issue

I was using ff 4.2 no problem.
Auto update to 4.5, no problem.
Another auto update to 5.0, still no problem
Please try updating your browser as it may have been an issue with the version you are using.

These need a tooltip or something; I shouldn't need to view the file name to figure out what the status of something I reported is...
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Good call. For the moment, the icons are listed at the bottom of the forum.
(Mmm - maybe they should be listed at the top?)

Might help. Could hardly work less well than the ones at the bottom that I never noticed....

The icons are mostly self-descriptive, except Fixed. That one looks like someone put in a temporary hack-fix (like a hardcoded constant + inline SQL + commented out code). And the real fix is coming up

Fixed was the only icon I was able to guess correctly. "Added to TODO" doesn't look like anything IMO, and I'd've guessed answered was "asked for clarification".

I moved the legend to the top but it was totally out of place, so I've added tooltips instead.

this text is not being rendered properly in Quick Answers section
Hi all,
i'm doing my first steps in react.
this code should write "On" but i get "App.js: Unexpected token, expected ( "
what am i missing?
<pre lang="javascript">
import React, { Component } from 'react';
import logo from './logo.svg';
import './App.css';
class Light extends React.Component {
constructor(props) {
super(props);
this.state = {light:"On"};
};
function formatLightState() {
return <h1>{this.state.light}</h1> ;
}
render() {
return (
<div>
{this.formatLightState()}
</div>
);
}
}
class App extends React.Component {
constructor(props) {
super(props);
}
renderLight(){
return <Light />
}
render() {
return (
<div>
{this.renderLight()}
</div>
);
}
}
export default App;
this is the link that was giving me hard time

I do not fear of failure. I fear of giving up out of frustration.

Sorry, but writing a comment becomes more and more difficult here. Messages will be "reformated" some times in a strange way.
As mentioned in some threads before: Better do not sniff and manipulate Messages automatically.
Only my non counting 2 whatever

Baoh!!! Preview in comments is meanwhile a mess, P L E A S E fix up such minor things!
This site should represent professional programmers? At the moment I have my doubts sorry.

I can help if you're specific. What's happening and what are you expecting, and is there some sample text you can send me for me to test?
In the meantime, do you have "Use Markdown formatting (Markdown formatting tips)" checked? If so, try unchecking it.
cheers

I don't need help, I try to help to let CP come back to a reliable state I knew before some time.
I did not use any "special" thing, I simply tried to use the site like I did in the past.
The following maybe sounds strange/unfriendly, but what I try to communicate is simply technical and please take into acount I'm not native english.
a.) Preview in comments (Q&A I don't checked, was not able to answer )
Preview in message replies does not work anymore. In the past, preview of a comment was updated imediatelly. At the Moment, preview of a comment shows my very first entry, but does not Show any modification....(IE11?)
b.) Paste of links (formatted e.g. with the help of Q&A Editor) will be reformatted to "non links", e.g if it survives: Nothing special
Again, I do not like to be nice and I also do not like to be an a**hole... I only try to help, because I like this site and it helped me then and when and therefore I like to give somthing back

Interesting.
Looks like when you pasted you chose "paste as code". I've updated your profile so it will (be default) paste as HTML.
With regards to the preview: I'm deploying updates as we speak, and during that time things like previews can be a bit dodgy while the site spools up.

"paste as code": No, never! That for sure! Because I'm the WWW noob I always choose "paste as it is" because I like to have (try to have) the control. Thatswhy I "missuse" Q&A Editor to Format the links [edit]before[/edit];)
Bruno
I hate me for this, but as mentined I don't like to be only friendly and finally I think it is fair to be open:
"I'm deploying updates as we speak, and ..."
No it does not count after reading this again and again. Be sure I know excatly in what Situation you/we are but please why you try to "sell" the same sh*t to us like our bosses sells for us?

Bruno
[Edit]
Before some month it was easy also for me as an old man to add a link to a message in Soap or anywhere.... now it is only a fight, Not impossible to win, but simply an unnesesary fight

- Your links were surrounded by PRE tags. Either you added them (which means they will be auto-HTML encoded because the system assumes everything inside a PRE block is literal, give or take a few spacial tags) or when you pasted you chose "Paste as code". If there's a third explanation that will reveal a bug I'd love to know so I can fix it.
- Is the message preview working for you as you type your replies to forum messages and / or QA posts? Regardless of your personal feelings towards my being transparent, we do see the preview stop working briefly during deploys. If you're seeing preview fails continually then please let me know the browser / OS you're using and I can see if I can replicate and fix.

My favorite method to paste "whatever it is" is "paste as it is" too, Bruno!
As to QA page... i use quite often "paste as code" and it helps, but i need to add specific laguage name, such as "VB.NET", "C#", etc.
Cheers,
Maciej

when I reply to a message, I select the text I want to Quote, I click the "Quote selected text" button and it acts like I've tried to Post because I get a message saying items that need attention -
- you must supply some content
- There were problems with your new post
EDIT (only on Pete' posts - I understand if this is because you dont want what he says repeated).

Tried exactly this with the above quote... works fine.

I recognised that too when replying to this post: The Lounge[^].
But for all other posts it seems to work.
[EDIT]
It seems to apply only to posts from Pete. I tried it here, in the Lounge, and in the forum of ones of his articles.
