Right or wrong, that's the way it is: live with it. And don't waste time worrying about it, overall you are likely to gain far more than you lose.

Points are not tradeable to money or physical things, you can not put them in your CV, they are just a "game" in a website. If your participation in CP is depending on the points you win... ejem... I better don't finish the sentence.

I use Safari on MacOSX,when clicked the "Latest Articles > [sub category]" on CodeProject home page, the drop down menu opened, but then I want click the other category links, the menu hide immediately, I must move the mouse cursor very fast.
I think it's a bug.

When I pressed this link:

"View thread" Link doesn't seems to be appear under each post at Lounge, seems working fine at GIT.
Just my 2 cents.

The file names show up:
circular.zip
circular/
cyclic.f
machine.f
median.f
rgauss.f
ssort.f
t_ave.f
But nothing happens when you click. Any ideas what's happening?

There wont be any handler set up yet for '.f' file types.
I had this with '.pde' file which were text based 'C' file used by the Arduino IDE. Chris simply added a handler and all was good in the world again.

Let me add a FORTRAN handler. Should be good in a few hours.

Was there a hint of anything offensive/abusive/spammy in them? There are many a trigger happy folks in the lounge ready to hit the report.

Your message says "Message Removed". If it had been voted off for spam/abuse, wouldn't it say "Message Automatically Removed"?
Are you sure you didn't accidentally hit the "Delete" link?

I think Chris changed that particular piece of text a while ago (too lazy/tired to look for a link).
I posted the message and then forgot about it.

When you go to a CodeProject FAQ, you aren't able to vote, you can only flag the article. But why? It would be nice if we would be able to vote for them.
|
|
|

I always thought that was odd behaviour as well, but just accepted it as it was the FAQ section.
Possibly because anyone can edit the FAQs, why should the original poster take the credit for them.

Not at all. The FAQ articles from the CodeProject staff are editable by Silver authors, but also other people can write FAQs, and they can set that only Admins/Editors can edit their articles.

I was using the term 'anyone' loosly.....

They aren't technical articles - they are helper articles about the site.
But sure - I'll turn on voting.

No don't please. I hate to see poor low votes there. Those articles are manuals so no need for ratings.
