i want to read barcode from images

i have got different images consist of barcode . so want to read the barcode from that images and insert it into database sequently. so kindly help. i want to start

It's advanced pattern recognition and if god or nature (whichever you prefer) built this into my firmware, then it's very important and not naughty at all.
