Hi All,

In my application i am using the WPF media element and add the media source to it and when we running on vista environment it is playing

the video but the same application is opening in the xp operating system and run it, we can't view the video. what is the problem here with

Xp-os?and how we resolve this problem.

if any ways to resolve this problem, please post solutions to this one.

and i want to know what are file formats we can play in the media element. and let we know the following file formats are played in the

media player flv swf, youtube video, avi, mpg, wmv etc..

Make sure you have installed Windows Media Player 11, with Media Player 9 you can't play video in mediaelement.

I had the same problem in xp, and when i have installed media player 11 I have solved this problem.

You can play all formats, but you must install a codec pack.

Sorry for my english, but I'm Italian :)

Yes, installing WMP 11 resolved problem.

It is probable that you don't have the right media codecs installed in XP. Depending on versions and SKU's, Windows comes with a number of codecs. It is probable that the codec you selected is not available in your environment.
