I am Rahul Pushpendu Bhaskar and Now I am working in IT industry as a .Net Developer But my desire to work in DBA field so please tell me some tips to become a DBA ....

A quick Google, led me here: How Do I Become a DBA? - Jonathan Gennick[^] which provides a (mostly Oracle based, but the information is generic to all DBs) guide to how to become a DBA.

There will be other routes: probably as many as there are DBAs working out there!
Try Google yourself, and see what you can find!

A query need not be completely technical to be posted into the Q/A section. That was the very purpose of this section.

Plus, the correct forum that this query would fit into would be "Work and Training issues". If you aren't sure, you could just refrain from "answering" and avoid possibly misguiding the OP!

I don't agree with the "discussion forums would help more" theory.

If the query was going to be here for longer, someone else might have answered it appropriately (OriginalGriff already has done though). Plus, lounge is NOT the best place for that sort of a query (it's acceptable there though, because it's not a programming question). You'll notice that there are more funny/worthless responses than helpful ones.

And, the correct forum is "work and training issues" (so is the Q/A section equally "correct" for that sort of a question).

I totally agree on the funny/worthless part of yours. Lounge kinda pushes away new people but thats a different story.

Based on what I see in Q&A, if someone does not reply in a day or two... almost forget about getting it answered. They go back a lot in the stack. OriginalGriff did replied, perfect!
(BTW, I just hope you are not taking me as defending my answer.) Q&A lacks discussion thing and thus the threaded forums remain. Q&A has his own positives.
