hello..

Is there any open source code available for high level formatting of USB?? like 7 level formatting and 35 level formatting, because I want to integrate this feature i.e High Level Formatting in my application.

Why are you asking here?

The best resource for finding open-source software is an internet search engine.

Have you searched for 7 level formatting or 35 level formatting?

I suspect that you have and couldn't find anything. That's because, AFAIK there's no such animal. I am of course willing to be proved wrong.

By any chance did you mean 7 pass or 35 pass wiping?

Take a look at DBAN (Darik's Boot And Nuke)[^].

BTW: Unless you are writing something for a government organization that insists on this, more than 1 wipe followed by a write of all zeros is generally unnecessary.

yup..... 7 pass wiping and 35 pass wiping.
I searched on net for source code or any help but i cudnt found it.

Go back to the link and in the search bar at the top type file secure delete and hit return. You will get a list of stuff most of which has source code. I cannot guarantee which language though and you will have to judge for yourself, from the descriptions, which actually do what you want. Have fun.
