Could you guys tell me how many points require to be a Codeproject MVP or I think I should ask, what would it take to be a Codeproject MVP.

Thanks all.

As far as I can tell, it isn't a number of points - it's an amorphous "contributions to the site" scale.
They don't tell us what the contributions are, probably to prevent idiots gaming the system.

Off the topic but I just wanted to know what MVP stands for... Not "Mostly Vorkless Professionals" I'm sure :D

Fantastic sir.
Answer questions, write articles, help others, but stop worrying about gaining points. If your motivation is to achieve MVP status then you are not doing it right.

Why do you keep responding to all these old questions? Please don't, as it puts them back on the queue, and people think they are currently active.
Hello Brother,

I agree with Richard Sir,Original Griff and thatraja. You have heard from the horses mouth. To their point i will add, few things:

The burning desire to gain knowledge at any cost, the desire to help, be humble, learn to teach and be taught.

Dont ask:
Quote:
How to become an MVP?

- This is something you discover eventually.

Dont answer a question and then say :

I just want to ask you one thing:

Quote:
Why do you want to become an MVP? What will you achieve?

There is no answer to this question for you as well as the people who have become MVPs, but there is a difference in purpose. It was their passion for knowledge, the desire to help, the hunt to find out the gold at the other end of the rainbow which made them MVPs.

But may be at this point of time your aim is to get that prestige, red carpet unwinding in front of you, full of red roses, people shouting from their balconies
Quote:
"All hail to the MVP of the year"

There are many sacrifices to be made to achieve this status. I tried many times to follow that path, but i am not complete, not at that equilibrium to achieve it. A lot of research needs to done on your self.

Ask this to your self:

Quote:
How much do i know? How many people have i helped?

People who have become MVPs have maintained their status and respect over the years through their sheer hard work, inquisitiveness, will power , passion. If by luck you become an MVP, can you maintain that status?. I will say at this point : "NO".

I just want to say one thing :
Quote:
Buy an Audi if you can maintain it.

People today want to achieve power and pride without hard work through short cuts. No one is interested in learning, gaining knowledge.

My friend , i am emphasizing on the words "helping others", i hope you realize its importance as soon as possible. This covers a very broad scope, you will soon find out.

Now do you have all of this? if you are ready just start off as soon as possible. You may not become an MVP this year, or the next year, or even after a 1000 years, i dont know when, but you will need to be patient.

Eventually you will get something more powerful even than a bazooka which is : "Knowledge".
There should be an incessant desire to learn, that fire within you which must keep raging which asks you

Quote:
"Why this? why should i write this code? where am i short? what is this concept?"

So brother enough of talks, start studying. I am sorry if my words were harsh, but this is the truth. I started working from a marketing firm, now i am a developer, and now i want to become an MVP ...... long distance to go :)

Thanks a ton,
- Rahul
