Hi All,
I am a newbie here, I have been asked to build a website for a e-commerce company, they want a shopping cart experience(including payment gateway). Can you please suggest technology, tools, tips, that I should use. How's wordpress for all these works.

I have some experience on dot net but any technology is fine.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Since you are a beginner I would suggest you go with WordPress. There are plenty of plugins available which will help you customize it. Start by Googling for - 'eCommerce wordpress'.

No I haven't used a free host provider yet. But Google should give you a list and reviews about them.
