hi

i first installed visual studio 2010 then going to install sql server 2008.....they have any problem? my friends tell that is not working

they have any problems ???

It should be no problem. But there is an other option too: install SQL Server 2008 without Management Studio, and install Management Studio 2010 or 2012 separately.

From my experiences with VS 2008 and 2010, you should install SQL first - Visual Studio installs a version of SQL for it's own use and if it finds SQL installed it doesn't bother. If it does install it's own (cut down) version, then installing SQL on top messes with VS settings and can cause it not to work properly. You should probably install SQL, patch it as needed to the latest version, then install VS and patch that (if there are any).

VS2012 may be different, but from past experience with Microsoft, it counts as a bug and they don't fix them...just bolt "features" on top. :sigh:
