DropDownlist problem

I have a drop down list having values like hk-gh, amit-salman etc. But when I write code so that selected values are written in word or some text documents, it is giving something like hk#&ghm, amit^&salman etc. I want original value hk-gk,amit-salman. Ca somebody please help me?

'-' charater shouldn't have any problem with Word/Text file.
Can you post the relevant code here?

Solution 1

I have faced this issue while using AntiXSS libraray.If you are also using it somewhere,check double encoding is happening.If so ,it will append as you have said.

If not,I am not sure what could be the problem.Sharing of code may help.
