How to Deploy Web Application using ClickOnes

Hi,

I have a web application that is already hosted on IIS, but now the requirement is that I want to deploy this web application using ClickOnes.

I know that windows applications are deployed with it but no Idea of web application with clickones.

Please Help, Its very very urgent

Dear Chirag,

Well for web apps it is usually done via Web Deploy.

You can check this Scot Guthrie's post about it:

The Block is really good, But it is explaining regarding Hosting on IIS. My question is deploying web application using clickones. Any Idea?

Basically you would like to create a setup.exe that will deploy your web app on that machine?

Hi, I tried the steps given in this link. It created the same setup file that I had tried. Now we are able to generate the Setup but now If I add this to ClickOnes and host on IIS it does not work. Is there any different way to add this exe to clickones?

I also found the same that we cant deploy web application with ClickOnes. But my boss is confirmed to deploy web application with click ones. Logically if we think it is not practical to have web with clickones. But its very very difficult to convence a Boss.

If he is so sure, let him show you how to do it. You are not obliged to know. You tried and it is not working. Ask him, what now?
