Hi,

I have been reading a lot of CP articles lately, and found it odd that there is no LaTeX support provided in the Article Section.

There are many articles Related to Image Processing includes equations regarding the Algorithms that needs to be implemented in them. Currently, those are being uploaded as images.

Wont it be better if the LaTeX support is provided for this ? And I personally feel its good for two reasons.

* Avoids uploading of Images in between the articles
* Easy and Efficient way of writing the Equations.

Is there any reason in particular because of which the LaTeX support is not provided in CP ?

Did you pay attention that the CodeProject content is viewed using Web browser, so it is delivered as HTML? :-) And HTML power in text and formula layout is pathetically miserable compared to LaTeX, which will defeat the purpose of all of the LaTeX power, in my opinion.

An attempt to render fully-fledged LaTeX document via HTML will inevitably cause loss of information. What would you do about it? How about on-line editing of HTML which is presently available? I hardly can imagine resolution of these problem. I'm really sorry the situation with Web standards and their support is in such a sorrowful state right now and in such a strong contradiction with the present-day demands, but I doubt CodeProject is capable of resolving these global issues.

Final note: it's interesting to discuss the prospective CodeProject feature here, but all the suggestions are supposed to go to CodeProject's main menu => "Help!" => "Bugs and Suggestions".

I agree with your Answer, but there are many other sites that provide LaTeX support for Equations. This was just a question out of curiosity. Well I will put this in Suggestions as you said.

"LaTeX support for Equations"... How? Give me the reference. I bet it will be some PNG images generated our of LaTeX or something like that...

Yes, I agree with you once again on this.. They are rendered into PNG using LaTeX. But isn't this better than Uploading the images manually ?

Yes, better. I don't think this is actual for CodeProject. What formulas?
You can post a suggestion of course...
