How about... Martin Fowler?[^] Or... Uncle Bob?[^]
Both writers have written enough on the subject I suppose.
But really, you are the one who knows best what you know, can, and need. So I suggest you read the reviews and make your own decision on what to buy.

Thanks Espenn :)
This is one specific to the subject
Microsoft® .NET: Architecting Applications for the Enterprise (Pro-Developer)[^]

However, any book dealing with Design Patterns or SOA could be useful also.

Read most of it. Good book with much detail. My 5 for the reference.
The links provided by Naerling and Mark is well worth a look, and I hope you'll find the following useful too.

Rémy Fannader has created a very nice web Caminao's Ways[^] that I hope you'll find interesting.

The Data Model Resource Book series[^] is also something that I'll recommend.

The links above provides valuable information about how to structure your enterprise application designs, but does not touch on .Net or c#.

Inside Windows Communication Foundation[^] provides a good introduction to WCF, and you should probably know about Nicholas Allen's Blog[^] too.

Best regards
Espen Harlinn

Thanks Sergey - one of the nice things about Rémys' site is that it's actually a bit entertaining too :-D

Good material, my 5.
The Head First books tend to be very good for beginners. Might be able to find in your local bookstore (hurry before it closes for good). Here is the software development book: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1471836/how-to-capture-the-video-from-webcam-in-asp-net-c[^]
