Open Ms office application on client side from web page

Hi,

Is there anyway to open ms office application on client side in a webpage button click?

Means,i have a button on the webpage, when i click on that button, i need to open ms office application in the client system.

I dont know whether it is possible or not, if possible, please give me a suitable way to do that

I did the following

To overcome this error, we have to change the browser setting. InternetExplorer --> Tools --> InternetOntions --> Security --> Custom Level.

But after that also showing below message

"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Automation server can't create object"
