Does Windows 7 have a settings app? I am setting up a Windows 7 PC but can't install Norton 360. And it took several tries to install Firefox. Chrome installed the first time. Where can I go for help?

What I have tried:

I've tried various methods to access controlled folder settings without success. I'm only guessing this to be the problem. The PC is a Dell Inspiron laptop about 2010 vintage. I used the original install disk from Dell and SP1 from a web source.

Be aware: For Norton 360 you need at least W7/SP1.

Windows 7 has been out of support for over two years now. You don't have help for it anymore.

If you insist on using 7, you would be advised to install SP1 on it, and the Convenience Rollup after that.

What settings are you after? There is no central "settings" for everything on any Windows O/S, so you're going to have to be specific.

I installed another 2 updates after SP1. Norton installed properly. Thanks.

I'd firstly install all windows updates.
