Getting todolist to work on new windows PC

Thanks for a great product. I bought a new PC (windows 10 64 bit) and it won't run, saying it needs MS Visual C++ 2010. The link to download MS Visual C++ 2010 is broken. I am also thinking a later version of MS Visual C++ should work. Can you please clarify, and perhaps repair the download link for MS Visual C++.

Is your question relating to an article here on CP? If so, use the forum at the bottom of the article, which will get the author's attention. The author is most unlikely to spot your question here.

Solution 1

Don't post this under Quick Answers - if you got the code from an article, then there is a "Add a Comment or Question" button at the bottom of that article, which causes an email to be sent to the author. They are then alerted that you wish to speak to them.
Posting this here relies on them "dropping by" and realising it is for them.

I would suggest the developers fix the download link for the distributable, which is broken, and tell users to use the x86 32 bit version. Perhaps it could even be rebuilt with a later version of the distributable. Thanks for a great product!

Thanks, I have read the documentation. I have just downloaded the Visual C++ distributable 2010 from Microsoft and installed it, but it still does not work. I installed the x64 version as I am running Windows 10 home 64 bit. I get same error message from ToDoList 8.0 saying I need Visual C++ distributable 2010.
Thanks for helping as I like the project.
