Microsoft help files for website login controls don't apply to VS2017.

I am almost finished an asp.net framework 4.7.2 website I am creating using VS2017 and VB.net.

I am trying to implement the login controls for my web pages. (Login, Register User, Change Password, Password Recovery, etc.).

The MS helpfiles Walkthrough goes back to 2008! MS has changed version VS2017 and almost none of it applies.

Can anyone point me to a resource which will walk me through implementing these controls?

I found one here in a code project article, but it is written for C#, and refers to VS functions and tools no longer existing in VS2017.

Any help will be appreciated.
