How to post questions using sensible name?

When I post a question, it gets posted as from Member 13898393. How do I change this to something closer to my actual name?

What I have tried:

I've already gone through my profile or settings and this still happens.

Once in My Settings", change value of "Your Display Name" and save

In Settings, the "Your Display Name" field is empty and cannot be changed. Could this be because it is a free account?

Result was that CodeProject has been erroneously classified as an antisemitic website, and some Web elements are hidden as a result. I have reported this bug to the responsible party, closing this issue.

It appears that you were able to change your display name.
What was the issue and add-in that was causing the problem?
