Hi Afzaal, I worked it out using AsyncFileUpload, the validations are now working as customized as desired.
However, the original problem is still occurring. The labels are found but empty

Hello Afzaal Ahmad Zeeshan, it's the only thing I found working to my requirements. My design is:
1. I have a nested gridview , one is the parent, the second gridview is inside.
2. The child gridview can have multiple rows for each month and user needs to upload payslip for each row. Each fileupload control is within an updatepanel
3. I used AsyncFileUpload but I could not meet the validation. (see my js codes below)
4. ASP fileupload button is not supported in updatepanel, this when it postbacks my expanded gridviewrow collapses .

Hi. Thanks for this and I am currently trying to use your suggestion. However, when I replaced 'ref' with 'out', the 'return dt;' line prompts error saying "The out parameter 'ExceptionMsg' must be assigned to before control leaves the current method"

Hey! It worked!
But what does eq(0) mean? And how does that jQuery code define that the label is in a datalist?

How does your code define that the label is inside the datalist?

But why does it return different connectionstring when I put breakpoint?
bjay tiamsic
9-Mar-16 18:45pm

Thanks for the comment. But it seems like it is not.
As you can see in SUPPLYConStr is Datasource=server31/... (this is a test server)
But when I put breakpoint in Default.aspx ConnectionString.SupplyConnectionString, it returns DataSource=[IPAddress]...which is the live server.

Hi. Thank you for this. It works, but not when status of any of the records is set to true. I tried the old record to set the status to true and it did not get that value. It is supposed to be display, in other words, STATUS field is my priority in checking and if no record has STATS=TRUE then the latest record based on effectivitydatefrom (EmploymentHistory table) and EffectivityDate (EmployeeSalaryHistory) should be considered

It works actually but I'm getting the undesired result. For example,
the where condition turned to be
"where EmploymentHistory.Status = 'TRUE' AND tblEmployeeMainInfo.LevelCode LIKE 'FACULTY%' OR tblEmployeeMainInfo.LevelCode LIKE 'STAFF%'"
it returns all records with faculty and staff value in LEVELCODE field, however it also returns those STATUS=FALSE
But when I enclosed the condition with OR with a parenthesis, it gets accurate result "where EmploymentHistory.Status = 'TRUE' AND (tblEmployeeMainInfo.LevelCode LIKE 'FACULTY%' OR tblEmployeeMainInfo.LevelCode LIKE 'STAFF%')"

public int OrderNo { get; set; }
public string OrderField { get; set; }

Yes I am aware of that.
this ain't working
lnkLoanType.Font.Bold = true;

and having this code, which gives the style using c#, I don't see the significance of <SelectedRowStyle> property of GridView in design code.

I am trying to render the gridview. I tried this
gvExportDoc.DataSource = dtInput;
gvExportDoc.DataBind();
string title = "OthersAbroad_BankReport";
Response.Clear();
Response.Buffer = true;
Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment;filename=" + title + ".doc");
Response.Charset = "";
Response.ContentType = "application/ms-word";
StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
HtmlTextWriter hw = new HtmlTextWriter(sw);
gvExport.RenderControl(hw);
string style = @"<style> .textmode { mso-number-format:\@; } </style>";
Response.Write(style);
Response.Output.Write(sw.ToString());
Response.Flush();
Response.End();
It works, however, my GridView font is Arial but Times New Roman is being defaulted when the word file was produced and I couldn't customize the margin.

Hi. The link answer did not work for me. I'm in the network currently. When I type in server47/mywebsitedir/webmainpage/login.aspx
it gives my computer's ip address.
but when I used server47's public ipaddress

it gives the server47's ip address (192.1.2.3), not my computer's ip address.
