Reason for my vote of 4 \n I think this is a nice intro article for connecting Java to MySQL.

I would only recommend to put the code examples more in context (The class where they should be, the button that trigger every piece of code, etc.)

Reason for my vote of 3 \n Nice work for start, there are things to improve like the collision in the middle of vertical objects that freezes the character, but is clearly a good start, nice work! :)
