I suggest to use ORM or Micro ORM like EntityFramework or Dapper for Database communication. That way you can avoid hand written query and your ORM tool will take care of query syntax.

Any plunkr/codepen/jsFiddle link would be helpful to reproduce the issue, if you can do that.

Just check if it overlaps with another css applied on 'a' tag. If yes, then you need to fix it by providing more precedence to applied class.

I would still question on why you need web api in that case. But not going towards that direction.
https://www.strathweb.com/2012/10/remote-printing-with-asp-net-web-api-in-windows-service/
This may help.

What is the structure of your xml file. Please post your xml file.
It seems DatabaseConnection is not an array but you are trying to read it as array.

Why would you like to print at server side?
If there is a case in which you want the user to print at server side, your server needs to have printer connected. How will user collect the print-outs from the server. Server may geographically located in another country. Just think over it.

What do you mean by full postback?
Is it refreshing the page after post back or is it executing whole life-cycle?
Please note that for server side, it will have full postback. Only while returning back, it will return delta content to the browser and whole page will not be refreshed.

I could't see any mistake in your code, but OleDb locks it for 3 minutes or so.
If you are dealing with xlsx file, I would recommend to use EPPlus: http://epplus.codeplex.com/. Its simple, clean and will not lock your file like OleDb does.

Please provide the code snippet you are using.
Remember that with JQuery and Ajax, it will not clear previously loaded files automatically.

I see that you are using selectItem method in first code snippet, and, Select method in 2nd code snippet. Are you calling wrong method to select a value?

Are you looking for removing time part from DateTime string?
.val() returns string, not date varialbe. so, you are applying toString on string variable.
Try something like:
value.replace(/\d{1,2}:\d{2}(AM|PM)/ig, '');
to remove time part.

Please provide your code so that we can understand what went wrong and why double click is needed. For caching issue, every time when u open popup, try adding different query string.
