Focus on desktop/console development. It's easy to learn.
Asp.net has some tricks/problems and you will need to learn to workaround this s#.

I think this case is fine, but, it's a good advice. Many components/controls have "licence traps". I hate those "free beer" open source projects.

It's not rocket science, but its not easy.
Look for .Net Reflection tutorials, create interfaces for your "plugins" and link events to the methods. I do this in my projects and it runs nice.

Just call this on the postback:
Validate()
if (IsValid)
{
//dostuff();
}

Second, in the page you use this usercontrol, do you have a script manager?

This is a backend solution.
It is c# code.
Don't downvote just because you don't understand it.

Stupid answers don't help in any way.
This can be a problem with your hosting, network latency.
The size of images can be a problem too, try saving your images in PNG.
For the database, the problem can be on your querys, joins and indexes.

Timer just work on server side... If you want to show a message in the client side, you will need javascript.
Use:
setTimeout('ximba()', 500);

Go to MSSQL, if you are using Asp.net, imo.
What about just saving a Guid? Save guids on the server and just send that guid on the request.

Yes, it is possible. Just make this connection public, open it, run all your tasks then close the connection.
Like:
Shared con as SqlConnection;
OpenConnection()
DeleteStuff()
CloseConnection()
