Here is a way to read ssl streams of any size. Just add:
if (bytes < bufferSize) break;
//test to see if at end of stream
int sByte = ssl.ReadByte();
if (sByte == -1)
break;
buffer[0] = (byte)sByte;
//read rest of bytes and don't forget to add 1 for the byte already added
bytes = ssl.Read(buffer, 1, bufferSize - 1) 1;
