Database

1. Find any indexes which use the column;
2. Generate both a drop and a create script for each affected index;
3. Run the index drop scripts;
4. Drop your column;
5. Add the new version of the column;
6. Then run the index create scripts.

sp_RENAME 'Table_First.newColumn', 'YourOriginalColumnName' , 'COLUMN'

• You get one point of backup.
• Lowered chance of tampered or missing files.
• You only need to set permissions in one place

• If badly implemented performance will suffer
• If your database is stored on a filesystem you will get an overhead
• No direct access to files

FileTables (SQL Server)[^]:

In other words, you can store files and documents in special tables in SQL Server called FileTables, but access them from Windows applications as if they were stored in the file system, without making any changes to your client applications.

The datediff function resulted in an overflow. The number of dateparts separating two date/time instances is too large. Try to use datediff with a less precise datepart.
