OK, but where do you draw the line? Some commonly used things, like VS, have paid versions, yet many articles mention them. Then there's the endless number of web services frameworks, though I have no idea which have paid versions. If common usage is the deciding factor, that makes it hard for upstarts to get noticed by articles that could be written at arm's length.

We draw a distinction between third-party and first-party. VS is Microsoft which would be first-party. We also draw a distinction between something that developers would commonly be expected to have access to (like Visual Studio). But I wouldn't reasonably expect developers to have access to Tarantool.
