It happens automatically. If I paste "https://www.codeproject.com/Questions/5293751/Can-anyone-explain-the-usage-of-pointer-to-pointer", it shows up as Can anyone explain the usage of pointer to pointer (**)in this context?[^]. Try it yourself and see how easy it is.

I get the first part automatically, but not the [^]. Are you doing anything before pasting it? If I first hit [^] and paste it before that, the [^] link goes back to this forum.

You use the Markup way.

We don't use markup, we just paste the link in the editor and the editor takes care of the rest.

EDIT: I should have read the full thread before answering, you already found it out.

By the way... remove the link pointing to Richard, not that next sunday he gets added to OG's Still Alives list Roll eyes | :rolleyes:

I just paste the URL into the message body and the hamsters do all the rest for me.
Occasionally it stops working but it's usually ok if you paste before a CRLF

By the way... if you select some text and the hit ctrl+v to paste a URL, then the selected text remains and gets enclosed by the html. What means the selected text is the visible part of the link.

Example 1: Selecting nothing and pasting www.codeproject.com

I use the full link clicking with my mouse wheel... same effect than the [^] (New Windows) but with more surface to be clicked.

But I don't build the link myself, I just paste the URL and the background scripts of the site make it clickable and with the [^] at once.

It happens pretty often, specially when people reporting the article in moderation are not users of this forum, they don't know that we automatically report the user too.

When I reported I saw a nick that I didn't recognize, so I think he will be the one that has "forgotten" it.
