As I suspected (and said earlier), your database file is set to copy always. Right click on it in the solution explorer, and select Properties. In that window, look for the Copy to output directory entry and change it to Copy if newer. Basically, what is happening is that every time you compile the program, the "live" version is being overwritten by the original version, so any changes you make in the "live" version are being overwritten by the original. In this case, "live" version means the one that has been copied to your build output directory.
