Sometimes one answers their own question, so it would be nice to be able to "Answer" your own question.

Why? You could easily modify the question to include the answer.

The popular way to do this is to edit the question to add the solution, and then tag the subject with [Solved].
|

I fail to see to logic in that; there is one location for a question and another for one or more answers, no matter who the author is. Answering one's own question does not need to be handled differently. Flagging a question as answered is OK, it too should not depend on whom provided the satisfactory answer.
BTW: Removing a question once it is solved is also popular on several sites, IMO it is equally stupid as it removes information that may be useful to others.

Agreed: I don't think it should be possible to remove any question with an answer, even if you wrote the original question. Happened to me three times yesterday: the OP deleted the question when he had his answer.

I noticed that the "Add an answer" box is labeled differently if you go back and look at your questions. It reads "Add your solution here. That's MUCH better, but see my new mesage in this forum.

I was about to agree with you because that's the way I've been doing it, but then I decided to go back to one of my questions, add an answer, and then see if I could "accept" the answer. Imaging my surprise when I found a place to "Add your solution here:" (where the Add an answer" box usually is).
I'm not surprised that you haven't seen that because I don't think you've asked any questions in the Q/A section.

You should have received email from a Codeproject admin. Did you check your spam folder? Did you check your settings to verify you have entered the correct email address?
If you haven't received email, you can email them directly at submit@codeproject.com.

If it was a Tip/Trick, and it was not deleted by a staff editor, I don't think he will get an email for it. I am not 100% sure of this but it seems anyone with enough reputation can delete a Tip/Trick.

You are right. Google cache shows that it was an article and one that was fairly decently rated. 4.26 from 16 votes. I wonder why it was deleted!

Nope, you are not wrong. I don't see even high rep people having an access to delete Tip/Tricks. Just verified, if I can or cannot. Further, I remember, some thread where it was confirmed that nuking some person or deleting/removing an article/blog/tip-trick would be handled by CP staff and even high-rep people would not be given such powers. One can surely report if needed, which we all can do irrespective of rep-power.

OK, that's what I thought.
I just hope OP gets an answer. It troubles me that someone would take the time to submit an article, and then have it removed without notification. That's even worse than the downvoting I hate.
As I recall, people have complained about this before, but there was always an email in the spam folder that had been overlooked.

The article is not deleted, it's in composing status. We sent an e-mail to you recommending that it would fit better as a Tips & Tricks post, gave you instructions on how to post it there, and offered to post it for you. It seems that e-mail went astray
I would still be happy to post your submission in your Tips & Tricks if you were agreeable to that idea

If someone's submission fits better as a Tips & Tricks post than an article, the comments and votes are typically unkind.
Perhaps when the "convert to tip" becomes available the views can carry over. I'll suggest it
