Unfortunately most of what you are being educated about is not relevant to any job you will find, and probably also outdated in 4 years.
Employers however will see your degree as a sign that you have the stamina to apply yourself and work through all the courses.
None of it matters to determine if you will be successful as a developer.
Find something that cannot easily be replaced with cheap overseas labor willing to work for $10/hr
The app store hay days are a decade behind us. The only app I would be willing to pay for is an app that stops all the forced updates. Few people make money.

Thanks for a good advice  It takes many hours to learn Android development so I wanted to know if it's even worth the effort. Now I know that I should spend those hours learning something that is more important, maybe algorithms...

I'm of two minds on this topic, especially when it comes to Android.
The number of apps that are constantly updating themselves is ridiculous, even though I hardly ever install apps beyond what came with the device. That's annoying. I don't know why people complain about Patch Tuesday when patching on Android is pretty much an ongoing thing.
On the other hand, all my Android devices have become abandonware the instant I walked out of the store - the OS, in all cases, never got a single update, which means core components are still vulnerable to known exploits and will never be patched, so I wouldn't dare do any sort of important transaction on them. I have tablets running Android 2.1, 4.3, 4.4 and 6.0, all worthless today. I gave up on it after that, and I refuse to buy into "that fruit company".
Third-party ROMs are a no-go as all my Android-based devices are now too old to get any sort of support.
Where does that leave me? Given its history, I'd be pretty dumb continuing to throw more money at Android.

I only buy new phone when the old one gets crashed. If I had gps in my car I would still use Nokia 3310 Windows updates are the same pain in the a... My computer goes slower and slower with each of those "fantastic" updates

Since you're talking about survive a semester, I'm assuming you're attending a college or university instead of learning on your own.
Aren't they structuring your learning path and you have to follow what they've put together, and you're not free to pick and choose what you want to learn or not? Or are you claiming you have enough free time on your hands beyond what they're teaching so you can learn more on your own while still attending those courses? 'cuz that sure wasn't the case in my time...

Mostly I don't attend the lectures, because I learn on my own with a long term goal so usualy I already know what it's taught and just go to exams to pass them and send my assignments. You now understand why I'm planning my future career path in second semester, because I don't want to learn my job on the job. I want to go to job knowing at least a half of what is required and ideally I want to find a job already in the last year of my college. I do college just for the paper, because I would never find a job after these three years with this knowledge. The lectures couldn't even prepare me for the my assignments so they surely will not prepare for my future job.

It would be extremely unusual for you to walk into a job and you happen to already possess exactly the knowledge you need to do it from end to end. In this field, you can't know it all. If you can at least demonstrate you're comfortable with what everyone takes for granted, and starting from there, have an ability to quickly learn and apply your newfound knowledge, you'll do fine. Just don't expect to be an expert in something on your starting day.

Trying to anticipate the market never seems to work ... that "job" always seems to require more alphabet soup than you have.
I "remade" myself about 15 years ago by taking on about 10+ "mickey mouse" freelance jobs over a period of months that added up to an impressive resume in the end; all remote; UK, Netherlands, New Zealand, US, Serbia, etc.
(Probably wouldn't impress the EU, but it did seem to fascinate North Americans).
Resulted in a number of big contracts. (Long term job) "stability" is no longer a requirement.
For one big interview, when they asked me to "tell about myself" I started in about playing bad golf, etc. Got the job without ever touching on IT.
Being unconventional helps (sometimes).

eenie miney moe - I hate to tell you this, but the only way you're going to figure out what you really want to do is to try something. After 40 years in the business, listen.
After 20 years in the business, you are going to reach "that point" where someone is paying you enough $$ to go off and do what you really want to do. I have been absolutely blessed the last 40 years. I get up in the morning and although the work is hard, I have fun. And they pay me.
Don't overthink it. You need a good grounding in the fundamentals, engineering teaches you how to solve problems, and learn to ask for help. Build a core group of people who challenge you, learn to get your feelings hurt. Those people you work with and have your back? Never betray them. We're not perfect, we all make mistakes, but people need to know they can depend on you. The rest will happen.

It's a word I've come across several times. Just now I couldn't remember it off the top of my head, but knew the type of word it was so assumed ended in "elia" and guessed started "para" but there weren't enough As; then stopped mucking about and just copy/pasted "seeing faces in the clouds" which Griff had so helpfully provided, to get Wikipedia's definition of pareidolia as top result.
Of course Griff's not confirmed yet, so might be entirely wrong!

Could be for reassurance - when ours gets worried he tends to be a lot closer than he normally is. Cats don't show pain, they tend to hide in the dark, get angry when you look for them, and hope it goes away instead. Is he eating?

Software engineering is a really tough field 
I thought that I just hard work, and put more and more hours into learning and gradually become better and better, but my skills wll be soon irrelevant anyway so there is not even a chance to stand out from the crowd of the programmers becuase you I have to start over and over with new languages, frameworks and skills... 
My colleauge has lowest entrance requirements and I'm still avarage so I don't have anything to show on exams either except avarage knowledge
