As Mika said it's the ComboBox class and you populate it's items via the Items property (Items.Add() , etc.)

I would just enable/disable the menu items, or make them visible/invisible depending on your requirements.

dear Team,
I created a form . I placed a groupbox in the form.
in that group box i have added two controls
1. a lable
2. numericUpDown control
the issue: the project runs in the two different laguages ( english and arabic)
when i open the project in arabic : the alighnment of the controls and possitioning of the controls(label and numericUPDown) in the groupbox should be changed into right to left and even the possition of the controls(label and numericUPDown) are not changing .
can you provide any solutions for this or any link related to solve this issue.
thanx in advance.

Unfortunately you cannot make .net align your controls automatically, you have to perform the layout yourself for each required culture. Fortunately, visual studio makes this relatively easy (i tested this in 2008, don't know if sequence is different in earlier versions). Open the form that needs 'translating' and set the form.localizable property to true. Notice that the language property is set to (default). this means the current layout will be applied to all cultures. To make your changes, set the language property to Arabic, then rearrange your controls as required for a rigth->left layout. Note that most controls (inc. label & numericUpDown) have a RightToLeft property. Set this to true, rather than changing other properties like TextAlign etc.
When you build the project, your should see a folder 'ar' in the bin. This should contain a dll which represents the Arabic specific layout. Now, to use the arabic layout at runtime, the ui thread must be set to Arabic. This will happen automatically is the windows regional settings are in Arabic, if not you can override these settings using Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture and Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture (Arabic cultureInfo code is 'ar-SA'). Any other configured langauge will use the (default) layout.
Hope all this makes sense! I can e-mail you an example project if required.

CallbackOnCollectedDelegate was detected

This may cause application crashes, corruption and data loss. Bah. No. I wrote the solution, but instead I just remembered I was the guy who told you about that article, warned you that you will get that error and where to find the solution. Instead, no.

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but I was just wondering if there's any sort of keyboard short cut to force child windows of a program to the front. I was working on some data in a child window, and another program popped up for some reason. I went to click back to the program I was using and the main window popped up with the child window I was working in behind it. Anything I click on in the parent window just makes a "Ding!" because it's waiting for input from the child window, which is hidden. Alt+Tab does nothing. All I can do is shut down the program and lose the data I was working on. It's pissing me off.
Please, help, if you can. Thanks in advance.

There is no magic shortcut for that unless the application you're using exposes such functionality. Alt-Tab will switch between applications, or anything else that shows up on the TaskBar. I would say that you have to either move the parent window before working with the children or move the child windows after they appear. The best solution would be to go back to the manufacturer of the app and asks them to fix it.

someone should tell microsoft how to fix this - I'm sick and tired of having visual studio (2005 and 2008) open a modal dialog behind the main window, and not let me bring it to the front because the main window has lost focus and is refusing to budge. Anyone else grown to hate that 'donk' sound it makes when you click on it and nothing happens?
The only way out is to press escape, but that doesn't always work either; then the only thing to do is kill it in process explorer. Task manager can't do it, it's too polite, and vs says 'can't close because it's waiting for input'.
Does it still do that in VS2010? I'm hoping that with the switch to WPF, the entire gui will have been overhauled too.

What? I've never had it happen, in VS2002, 2003, 2005, 2008, or in 2010.

it's a common occurrence for all the developers where I work
I think it's TFS (and before that, VSS) integration that does it
I've tried installing various hotfixes from ms, and they don't help
