The account that is running your code on the server must have access permissions to the file share on your local machine. It apparently doesn't, or you haven't mapped "D:" to the share on your workstation.
In order to pull this off, you really need to understand Windows Networking. I suggest picking up a book on it.

I'm tyring to create a UserControl with the following aspects:
+ it has a static image in the background, that is recreated every mouseup event
+ when i have a mousemove event while the left-mouse-button is pressed it should open up a rectangle
i tried some solutions, but nothing worked. (graphics, graphics and bitmap, ...)

There are encryption classes in the System.Security.Cryptography namespace.

You're creating over 2,000 controls on a form??? I hope you like waiting for the form to paint.
This is a REALLY bad idea. I suggest you limit that to a few hundered controls.
Part of the problem you're running into is that you're create so many windows. The Handle pool is probably being exhausted, explaining the error you're getting. If you don't properly dispose and release these resources, you'll cause this problem. BTW, the Handle pool isn't specific to your app. It's a system-wide pool. So, if you run the pool dry, the entire system will start doing strange things.

Hi!
I have place a splitcontainer on the form vertically. So the panels in the container called Panel1 and Panel2. I have also placed a tabcontrol inside the panel 2 and a groupbox in panel1. When I click a tabpage in tabcontrol I want to disable Panel1. However It doesn't do anything. Why?
Thanks
<br />
Private Sub TabLayout_TabIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TabLayout.TabIndexChanged<br />
<br />
'This message never shows up. This control resides in Panel2<br />
MsgBox("Here")<br />
End Sub<br />

Hi!
I have a listview box within 2 columns. When I populate and sort the listviewbox with ListviewItemComparer, I don't get any error but when I do it second time inside from another procedure ,I have received invalid index of 1 message in ListviewItemComparer class file. In second time When I apply an index of 0 for the column to sort, I don't get any error message but when I define 2nd column in listview box, I get error.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks.

Well, the first problem I see is that your code is making an assumption it shouldn't be making:
While myReader.Read
ListView1.Items.Add(myReader.GetValue(0).ToString)
Dim TACC As Int32 = ListView1.Items.Count - 1
ListView1.Items(TACC).SubItems.Add(Trim(myReader.GetValue(1).ToString))
End While
This code is adding a new item to the list view, but then using an index to add items to that item, which MAY NOT point to the same item! Rewrite the code to create and use a ListViewItem object, modify it with subitems, then add it to the ListView:
While myReader.Read
Dim newItem As New ListViewItem(myReader.GetValue(0).ToString)
newItem.SubItems.Add(Trim(myReader.GetValue(1).ToString))
ListView1.Items.Add(newItem)
...

Hello every one
How ca I select a item in a combobox when I know which index to be selected?

hi guys
i am using 3-tier architecture in my application,
now problem is with my reporting as i am not using datasets,i am using custom domain objects.
now my reports need dataset in order to show data on reports but i just want to use
custome objects not data sets , is there any alternate or better solution ,, thanks in advance
hello
|
|
|
|
|
What you do depends on the reporting solution you're using. If all it will take is a DataSet object, your kind of pigeon-holed into what you can use. If it takes objects deriving from some other root class or must implement some interface, then you've got options.
But, a quick workaround would be to add code to your class that takes the data in the object and creates a DataSet or DataTable object from it and returns that to the caller.

You can use a time or a background process or can just have a pooling and time comparison and then fire a function by which u open other applications
Use the path as
\\<ip>\<shared folder=""> \ File

Are you asking how to launch a PowerPoint presentation on one machine from code running on another??
Sorry, you can't do that. Launching an interactive process remotely is expressly forbidden because of security risks.
You can, however, have an application running on the client machine that will accept a command from another app running on the server side. The command would tell the client app to launch the presentation, locally to the client of course.

Sorry for the double post, Please help!
I cannot Access HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion (64-bit)
because of registry virutalization of x64...
How can access this using Vb.NET?
My.Computer.Registry.SetValue("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion", "RegisteredOwner", TxtOwner.Text)
It will be redirected to Wow6432... Any ideas? Please post the code...

Sorry, I was too busy having a life to answer over the weekend.
What's the exception message you're getting??
Please keep in mind that this in no way guarantee's an answer. I've never had the opportinuity to play around with 64-bit Windows.

there is no exception...how can I disable and enable registry redirection
of x64? because it automatically re-direct to another path "Wow6432"
instead of the path above.
