I mean i have been trying to get some example of using list to include textbox label and assosciate them and again taking another list for another textbox label and assosciate them together. I can't even find in the links you've sent me. The general idea of using lists is not a problem to me..

These people http://net.tutsplus.com/[^] have a variety of tutorials (articles and video) covering from basic to advanced, including working examples (demo's) with source code. But you will have to search their site to find a tutorial/resource that matches your wants.

There are probably thousands of tutorial and/or resources websites. And many times that number who use some flavour of HTML + CSS, and probably quite a few that use the technique(s) you are after. You have a choice of (1) Google, (2) Get somebody else to design your site's needs, (3) Learn by trial and error, (4) Inspect, and learn from, other people's websites by studying source code etc, OR, (5) Give it up as a bad job.
It really isn't that hard to do either option (1) or (3) above. Your CP biography says you are a web developer. May I suggest that you either put into practice what you have learned or find some other kind of employment as web development doesn't appear to be your forte.
This is not meant to be hurtful and I am sorry if that is the impression I gave.

May I suggest that next time you ask a question you specifically say that you want someone to do all the work for you because you can't be bothered to look around for yourself.
That way it would stop people wasting their time trying to help you.

Hi,

How are you accessing the webservice? It looks like the browse permissions are stuffed up within IIS (assuming you're using that).
|
|
|
|
|
using the URL where the webservice is located.
Is there something to configure in the IIS?

Well, yeah, of course that, but have you tried just putting it into a browser and checking the wsdl is accessible?
lune12 wrote: Is there something to configure in the IIS?
Well like any web app, you're going to need to configure permissions on it, whether it be anonymous or authenticated, it'll be down to you but have this looked over because it appears to be expecting credentials that you aren't supplying when trying to access it.

Thanks for your response,
I just found this also,
when adding to my application that use the web service the following, it works
myservice.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;
But:::
I'm developing the web service, can't I change there something so the application will work without this adds?

I don't believe you can as it's on the webserver level that you're getting a problem, not the application level but I'm prepared to be corrected in this.
Is there a reason why you're not allowed to examine or alter the configuration?
|
|
|
|
|
I don't understand what do you mean by "allowed to examine or alter the configuration"
what are you suggesting me to do?
|
|
|
|
|
I am suggesting that you alter the configuration within IIS on the server.

What should I change? I am new in this field. can you explain or point to a relevant article.
thank you for your help

It's unde rthe directory security tab in the properties on your application within IIS. I cannot advise you precisely what level of authentication you need as that's down to you and your network but most of what you need to do is pretty self explanatory within IIS, just give it a fiddle. Otherwise, the Microsoft IIS subsite should be able to give you everything else.

Hi,
I have a website with some inputboxes!
(the site is multi-language! French-Dutch-English)
Now i want to add an address in my site wich is stored in SQL-server
but the address is in Slovakia ... poisťovňa
when pressing insert it gives me --> poisovòa on my listview
when i try to remake this on my test site
it is all correct! The special characters in SQL are stored like AsCII code
and in my listview on my website it is displayed perfect!
--> So when i insert manually the perfect ascii code in SQL it is displayed also perfect on my production site!
- Is it some problems with code page? on the webserver (W2003)
- has it something to do with sql?
- Regional settings on webserver
- ASP.NET settings?
- IIS settings?
- other problem? I do not know where to look anymore!
I cannot see a difference between settings on code page, IIS settings, SQL between test and production!
Or i must over look something!
Kind Regards,
A.

Yes thank you, i found a solution!
It is more a SQL problem! than something with web-development!
Only it is not that easy anymore to change our collation of SQL-server
because DB is standing in Correct collation mode...
But hey, we will find something!
thanks!

Hi everyone!
I have a simple web testing application which is supposed to open and close several popups by itself (without user interaction). For this purpose i have a javascript function to access the variable where the popup reference is stored and close it if it´s not null, fairly simple. However I get random IE errors like
Message: No such interface supported
Line: 86
Char: 3
Code: 0
URI: http://10.10.0.61:10000/savmailer/adm/tests/common_tests_code.js
and
Message: Permission denied
Line: 86
Char: 3
Code: 0
URI: http://10.10.0.61:10000/savmailer/adm/tests/common_tests_code.js
The line 86 references exactly the point at which I do popup.close(); in the following function
function closePopupWindow(popup){
if (popup != null) {
popup.close();
popup = null;
}
}
I have googled and it seems this permission denied error is quite common to come through among IE developers, however there´s no clear solution for it, it´s just a matter of changing the code slightly "to please" IE, so to speak. However i have no idea how to change mine since it´s just 3 lines!
Tried also to change the security browser settings by adding my domain to the trusted zone, but nothing, doesn't help either.
If anyone has any helpful idea or notices something i might be forgetting, please, reply to this!
Thanks in advance,
Kenia
