You can download mediawiki and check how they implemented it in PHP, and similar way you can do in ASP.NET also

Sounds like you should read a book on ASP.NET in general, then go from there.

If u have this div tag under a form which has attribute runat="server". On page load even you can directly write
formName.FindControl("divTagId").visible = false;
Make sure again that div tag with id = divTagId has an attribute runat="server" else it will give you an error.

hi..

u r right but i donot want the div tag to be a server side control,i want it to function as client side control

Create a div with visible attribute as false.
And when you want to make it visible use the code.
document.getElementById('divTagId').removeAttribute('visible');
since by default visible will be true it will be visible In case again based on any condition if you need to make it invisible use this code
document.getElementById('divTagId).visible= "false";

Hi!
How do I deploy .NET applications that references Interop.Excel.dll or
Interop.Outlook.dll onto computers other than the one on witch the project
was built? I've made serveral attempts on packaging the assemblies using
Visual Studio Setup Projects. However, the MS Office automation operations of
my .NET apps simply will not run on other computers than the workstation I use
for developing them. After installing on others computers, on which Excel/Outlook
of course have been installed, all I get is System.InvalidCastException or
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException. Am I missing any vital components?
Am I including assemblies that shouldn't be part of the setup?
Any advice on this issue would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
I am about to build several websites which will look different but all hold the same type of content in the same core page structure. The content for all sites will be held in 1 db and the relevant content pulled by each site.
Ideally I would like to build the pages once and then use them in each site with a different asp.net theme applied.
I've searched about and found some information which is close to this but nothing explaining this exact scenario. Is there any documentation I've missed on this or any best practice guidelins available for this problem?
Any advice will be appreciated.

John 10 5 7
Greg 9 6 9
Mary 10 4 8
I need select the value from Greg in Feb with a click in my datagrid,
and i´d like to display the value in text box,how can i do it?

it's because of string array. if you are binding the datagrid with String Array, you can't specify the DataField in bounded column... (I'm looking the solution for that).. so, you should change this string array to DataRow or you can use AutoGenerateColumns = true if you still prefer to use string array.

Hi every one!
my application is in ASP.NET/C# 2005. I want to call a web user control from C# code and display it on a specific location on page. is it possible? also is it possible to set values in controls of user control from the page where it is called?
Actually i want to display a table having different controls, X number of times depending on count of files in a folder and also set their values dynamically. should i use user control for this? if yes then how? and if no then what else could be used?

Of course. Your user control is a member variable of the code behind class - do what you want with it. You'd have to use CSS to position it precisely on the page.

I recommend you buy a basic book on object oriented programming in whatever language you're using, and read it.
As I said, your control is a member of your class, you can access it's methods and properties from there. Don't make your controls public tho, just expose the properties you want to set, such as the text.
