You can do it using JAVA Script easily. Or you can look for AJAX TextBoxWaterMark Control.

I need some help. I have a web control that has Labels with text set to Monday Tuesday etc. Beneath these labels are textboxes.
I also have a button with the text "Add".
When I click the add button a new row of textboxes should be places beneath the already existing ones. How can I go about reaching this?

If the maximum number of rows possible is quite less, then place all the textboxes in the rows at design time (with display set to none). Then, on click of the add button, just change the display through javascript.
If there is no limit or a high limit for the maximum number of textboxes possible, add them dynamically using TextBox class through code behind.

What is the container control that you have?
If you are using a gridview then add a footer row and show it when you click the Add row button. This off-course is the simplest way to do it but would work for only one row at a time, i.e. you can have only one footer row per gridview.
Continuing with gridview, if you need more rows and assuming you are using bound columns, just add an empty row to your data source and refresh the binding. Again very simple to do.
If you are not using a gridview and assuming you use HTML tables, then your table should be visible on the server and you need to generate and insert HTML script, which can get a bit clumsy at times.

Hi all,
I have a datagriview and a data table. The order of rows in my datatable is r1,r2,r3,r4,r5, but now when displaying in datgridview I need to show them in the order of r5, r4, r3, r2, r1 ... That means I want to perform it in the reverse order.
Have you got any suggestion for me?
Thank kiu so much!

1. DataGridView means you are working with Windows Forms. Hence, this is a wrong forum.
2. You can either use order by in your SQL/stored procedure and retrieve a sorted datatable directly from the database. Or you can create a DataView for your table and sort the rows based on that.
Here I am assuming that you do have a column based on which you can sort the rows to get reverse order.

Not sure if this would help achieve what you need, but it can be achieved by sorting the datatable and then binding. You can achieve any sort order this way.

Hi you can include one DataColumn named as Sr.No as in DataTable. Which could have values like 1,2,3,4,5 and so on. Now you can sort that Datatable with SrNo in Descending order. Display the sorted DataSource in GridView. So you can have the Datarows in Reverse Order.
All the Best.

If your .NET is installed correctly to the web server, and the folder is configured to use proper version of asp.net, only putting the file to the folder will do all...
If you cant configure IIS properly take a look into this :

I'll take a look at that. I ended up looping through the dataset and counting the number of records until I matched by record id and then sent that information to the function needing it.
It seems to work but I thought there would be an easier way to access the datagrid _rowid.
Thank you for the information.

How did you (or did you) fix this?

I have the same issue! But alas, none of my Google Searching reveals any options that work. Nor do I even seem to have adsutil.vbs on my machine so I can't even try switching between 32 and 64 bit modes.

Have you looked in c:\inetpub\adminscripts ? It should be there (assuming that IIS is installed to c:\inetpub).

It should be there but it isn't which is part of my problem. One of the few things recommended to try, I can't do! My adminscripts directory is empty.

If you want adsutil, you have to install the IIS 6 compatibility pack.

Yeah, I finally figured that part out, too bad none of the Vista examples dealing with my problem elaborated on that crucial fact. However, after doing so I discovered that this was not my issue. I was suffering from a ID-10-T fault and had assigned the Virtual Directory to a directory that doesn't exist, obviously creating a Access Denied Permission on the Web.Config (rolls eyes) correcting the VD fixed my problem.
To be honest you would think a better error would be file not found instead of access denied?

hi all,
Sorry for asking in the wrong discussion forum.I have two tables TblFamilyTree,TblGroup like this
TblFamilyTree TblFamilyTree
GroupID,GroupName ID,UserID,GroupID
is there any way to select all items on tblGroup with the count of GroupID from TblFamilyTree...
it must be something like this
select GroupID,GroupName,count(GroupID)
With warm regards.
|
|
|
|
|
Select tblGroup.GroupID, tblGroup.GroupName, count(TblFamilyTree.GroupID)
From tblGroup
Inner Join TblFamilyTree on tlbGroup.GroupID = TblFamilyTree.GroupID
Group By tblGroup.GroupID, tblGroup.GroupName
But, why post on the wrong forum when you know it is the wrong forum?
|
|
|
|
|
How about this :
SELECT GroupID,GroupName, (SELECT COUNT(GroupID)<br />
from TblFamilyTree WHERE TblFamilyTree.GROUPID = tblGroup.GROUPID) GROUPCOUNT<br />
FROM tblGroup
Check it out. I think it will work.
Next time put this in appropriate section.
