I want to store the image into the database as binary value .but the uploading will be done using javascript

do one thing...
are u maintaining user rights in database? if yes
create one session(assume it as Session["permissions"]) for user permissions. At the time of login retreive the user rights from database & store in the Session["permissions"].
Now, for each page load check with the permissions & accordingly set the control Read/write or Enable or Disable properties.
hope this will give u a solution.

This is due to asp.net pre-processing the posted content to check for dubious content, such as html tags.
You can disable this validation by adding ValidateRequest="false" to your page tag, but should read up on the security implications of doing this before hand.

I'm trying to implement a treeview without the expand/collapse +/- on the left of the nodes. When a parent node is clicked on, it displays the child nodes. The treeview must load from a web.sitemap. I couldn't find a solution with the built in asp:treeview options so I came up with this solution which works ok. The problem is the postbacks cause the whole page to be recreated everytime. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction in a way to implement this without postbacks. Appreciate it.
Here is my code in the aspx.
< asp:TreeView <br />
ID="TreeView"<br />
runat="server"<br />
OnSelectedNodeChanged="TreeView_SelectedNodeChanged"<br />
ShowExpandCollapse="false" ><br />
</asp:TreeView><br />
<asp:SiteMapDataSource ID="SiteMapDataSource" runat="server" ShowStartingNode="false" />
Here is my code in the aspx.cs.
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
TreeView.ExpandDepth = 0;<br />
TreeView.DataSource = SiteMapDataSource;<br />
TreeView.DataBind();<br />
SetTreeNodeSelectAction(TreeView.Nodes);<br />
}<br />
<br />
void SetTreeNodeSelectAction(TreeNodeCollection nodes)<br />
{<br />
foreach(TreeNode node in nodes)<br />
{<br />
node.SelectAction = TreeNodeSelectAction.Select;<br />
SetTreeNodeSelectAction(node.ChildNodes);<br />
}<br />
}<br />
<br />
protected void TreeView_SelectedNodeChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
if (TreeView.SelectedNode == null) return;<br />
TreeView.CollapseAll();<br />
TreeView.SelectedNode.Expand();<br />
}

By default set the value of selectaction property of each node as none

Using membership&role feature in asp.net 2.0 create an aspnet db,
can I use this db for my tables also?
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, as long as you don't change the created ones (unless you want to implement a custom provider).

I am asking in that way when my web has other tables for ex. Customers or Clients ...
In this way, Can I store tables (Customers, Clients etc) in aspnetdb?
Thanks in advance

The answer is that you can, the bigger question is whether you should. I'd be inclined to separate out your business data from your security data.
Is there an issue with deploying a second database in the environment?

thanks so much for answer!
No, in my case is not any security issue letting security and business data together.

Hi,
I have the following javascript:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"><br />
<br />
var numSeconds;<br />
var timerId = null;<br />
var timerInterval = 1000;<br />
var numUpdates = 0;<br />
<br />
window.onload = Window_OnLoad;<br />
<br />
function Window_OnLoad()<br />
{ <br />
StartProcess();<br />
}<br />
<br />
function StartProcess()<br />
{<br />
if ( numUpdates < 72 )<br />
{<br />
numSeconds = 3;<br />
UpdateMap();<br />
numUpdates++;<br />
}<br />
}<br />
<br />
function UpdateMap()<br />
{ <br />
if ( numSeconds == 0 )<br />
{<br />
clearTimeout(timerId);<br />
<br />
var mapControl = document.getElementById("MapControl1");<br />
mapControl.doCallback("IncrementSales", "");<br />
<br />
StartProcess();<br />
}<br />
else<br />
{<br />
numSeconds = numSeconds - 1;<br />
<br />
timerId = self.setTimeout("UpdateMap()", timerInterval);<br />
}<br />
}<br />
</script>
It works fine, when used on a standalone page, but when I am using masterpage and contentpages and I paste it into my content page (between <asp:content> and tags) it does not work. I'm a newbie at javascripts and I assume that there is something simple to correct. Could you please help me to make this script work under my content page?
Regards,
Piote
