One way to do it is to follow this[^] article and use the Article Submission Wizard or the template zip file. If you use the template, submit it to the editors for upload.
Let me know when it's uploaded and I'll have a read through. Good luck.

Hi,
I want a CheckBox in the header of a GroupBox that depending upon the state of the check will changed the size of the group box (via animation) and changed the properties (visibility) of the controls in the group box just using XAML.
How can I do this?
<window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" windowwidth="550" windowheight="350">
<groupbox>
<groupbox.header>
<wrappanel>
<checkbox x:name="GetCreate">Get
<textbox>
<textbox>
Thanks!

How would I go about converting an IntPtr from Delegate.Method.MethodHandle.GetFunctionPointer() back into a delegate in .NET 1.1? I know there is a way to do it in 2.0 using the Marshal class but cannot see how to do it in 1.1.
I think I will have to use unmanaged code to do it but any pointers on how would be good, I'm not new to C# or C++ but not sure how to go about this.
Thanks.

HYave you looked at Delegate.CreateDelegate? There's an overload that takes a RuntimeMethodHandle, which in turn wraps an IntPtr. The result of a CreateDelegate can be cast to some delegate type.
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks for the reply but I can only see an overload which takes a MethodInfo and there doesn't seem to be a way to create one from an IntPtr. Is there any other way to do this?
|
|
|
|
|
I misspoke:
Delegate.CreateDelegate(type, System.Reflection.MethodInfo.GetMethodFromHandle(someRuntimeMethodHandle));
The runtime method handle takes an IntPtr.
|
|
|
|
|
It doesn't seem to take an IntPtr, I get 'Cannot convert from System.IntPtr to System.RuntimeMethodHandle' with or without a cast. The .Value property of a new RuntimeMethodHandle is readonly too so I cannot set it that way either.
|
|
|
|
|
Right, you can't cast it. I'm not sure how to generate a RuntimeMethodHandle, then, on your own. You'd need to generate one and pass it to the MethodInfo.GetMethodFromHandle method. I'm not sure how to do that, or even if we're barking up the right tree.

I have a problem changing the Content property from a custom control in response to an event.
I have window1 as main and two custom controls. Content is set to first custom control wich has a button.
1.I wish when i push that button to set window1's Content property to the second control.
2.I wish when pressing "Escape" key for example while second custom control is in window1's Content to return the first custom control to window's Content property.
EDIT-solved: to get a handle:
IntPtr windowHandle = new WindowInteropHelper(
Application.Current.MainWindow).Handle;
or
IntPtr mainWindowPtr = new WindowInteropHelper(this).Handle;
or
make use of the routed events
or
Application.Current.MainWindow.Content

Set up an event handler for the button's click event. In that handler, set window1.Content = secondControl

Set up an event handler for the form's key down event. In that handler, check if the key is ESC, and if so set window1.Content = firstControl

Thanks, i dreamed up that i should use a routed event too during last nights sleep.
EDIT: to get a handle:
IntPtr windowHandle = new WindowInteropHelper(
Application.Current.MainWindow).Handle;
or
IntPtr mainWindowPtr = new WindowInteropHelper(this).Handle;

I am writing an app that uses the .Net classes TCPClient and NetworkStream to read and write data between 2 machines. All works fine.
I have recently found a need to be able to send Http 1.1 with a SOAP message as the Http body. Currently i am using an XmlDocument to load and parse the SOAP data. However to do this i first have to read in the HTTP header, search for the beginning of the body and construct my own XmlDocument.
There must be a better way. I don't want to call a web service, i just want to send http with a soap body and receive the same.
I am looking for a means of loading in the NetworkStream into some kind of HTTP object to read the http stuff and also load the body into some simple Soap object that can be used to pull out/ set values.
Comments, Suggestions Welcomed.

What's up with that Carl?

Your right, no excuse, I'm a little pushed on this one.
|
|
|
|
|
So how are you doing with it? Have you figured out how simple it is yet?
|
|
|
|

Phase1
Well I've managed to construct the HTTP and Soap, send them and parse them using TCPClient and NetworkStream in basic utf8 and ascii with some string handling.
Phase2
Then i added XMLDocument to parse the soap.
Now i've used the HTTPRequest to help out with the constriction of the HTTP. I am still looking fora nice wrapper for SOAP instead of the slightly lower level XML parsing stategy.
Phase 3 - Still looking
Problem is everything i use points to web services. I am not communicating directly with a web service but just want an in memory representation of the soap that makes life a little easier to get/set attributes etc.
Regards
Carl

That begins to add some clarity to what you are doing. However the following is still confusing:
crandall wrote: I don't want to call a web service, i just want to send http with a soap body and receive the same.
You don't want to call a web service but sending/receiving soap over http is calling a web service. Then you are looking for supporting classes in the BCL to do this (call a web service) but you don't want to use the Web Service classes.
I am at a complete loss to understand what you think you want to do.

Mike, first things first. SOAP is a protocol, xml based, it has nothing to do with Web Services in it's own right. SOAP messages have been around long before Web Services.
In reality, the TCP connection i am establishing with a remote endpoint will take the data i send and actually call a web service at a later stage.
I am looking for a way of creating soap messages and passing them on via TCP. I DO NOT have a web service that i can call available to me. I do have a TCP listener that will end up sending me a response in a binary structure. However the way i pass data in has to be in the same format a typical Web Service would expect.
That isn't that confusing is it?
