Hello,
I'm developing a desktop application that sends sms messages,I'm trying to send a midi file ring tone to a NOKIA phone but I don't know how to format it to be acceptable for NOKIA phones.First, I've read the file for a byte[] then I've converted it to a hex string but it does not work!
How can I convert the binary midi file to a format acceptable to NOKIA phones?
Thanks
Dad

Depends on the Nokia model, most phones accept MP3 in today's models.

Depends on the handset. The one I use supports avi, mp3 and may be more.

Well, I'm afraid you're all out of luck. A basic understanding of computers will tell you that the reason you get this error, is that you can't access a file being used by another process. Your only option really, if you MUST have access, is to find out the process that's locking it ( that would be Word, from the sound of it ), and kill it. I am sure that's not the result you're looking for.

0) The app that's creating the file would need to allow concurrent reads.
1) But with XML, having access to only a partial document is useless.
2) Ergo, the creating app would need to write the entire file before the reading app reads it, so the creating app might as well close the file and exit before the reading app runs.
Some of what you wrote (e.g. "one predefined xsl file i need to generate one xslt") is gibberish.

Use the FormDesign window and toolbox. Drag a button from the toolbox onto the form and adjust the properties as required.

I hope you don't mean this:
Thread workThread = new Thread(delegate()
{
FindDownloadDialogWindow("#32770", "File Download", 120);
});

Hi thanks and when i build (C#)
the following error comes, i am not familiar with delegates
can you guide me
The name 'FindDownloadDialogWindow' does not exist in the current context
do i need to declare this or what to do.
thanks...

Obviously.
The function is only described, not actually given, on that blog. It's not to hard to write it, but you seem more like the copy&paste kind of "programmer" to me. No offense, but matching up parenthesis and adding missing semicolons is not exactly high-level.
Good luck.

Your code produces syntax errors. I suggest you try the code harold posted.
If you still get an error, try calling FindDownloadDialogWindow without the thread, this will help you determine whether your call to the method is OK, then add back the delegate call.

Hi thanks
Even if i call FindDownloadDialogWindow outside the thread also it gives the same error.
do you have any idea of which namespace or dll consists this FindDownloadDialogWindow function.
thanks

Hey,
for example:
//new
Thread t= new Thread (new ThreadStart(MyFunction));
t.Start();
//
MyDelegate dele = new MyDelegate (FindDownloadDialogWindow );
dele.BeginInvoke("#32770", "File Download", 120);
void FindDownloadDialogWindow(string handle, string tileText, int num);

I use C# and storing data in XML file. the problem is that how can i avoid xml file to save duplicate record. in table it can be detected using Primary Key but how can i do it in xml.
e.g. in xml file i saved ProductID=1, next time when i try to save ProductID=1, it should automatically alert me that Key already exists.
help please

Hi,
XML is just a "dumb" datastructure. Using a database you have a layer between your app and the datastore called "DBMS" (Database management system). This system checks if you try to insert a duplicate key. Using your XML structure you have to write this "DBMS" by yourself. So I suggest write a layer which will check for duplicate keys.

the solution could be xsd file, but i dont know to use it

Well, could be a possibilty. Look here to see how it works:
http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2000/12/13/schemas/part2.html?page=2[^]
The problem is, that you can add the same identifier to the file without any error message. The XSD will only help you to say, if the XML file is valid according to the defined schema. So you could add a possible duplicate key to the file and validate the xml afterwards with the xsd. If the validation fails you know that the insertion of the key was not correct.

Before adding data to XML file, run a XPath query to see the data already exist. This is not fool proof method as XML is just a text file which any one can open in any text editor and add duplicate data.
